Don't own Avatar, quit reminding me.
I noticed that after the incident with Iroh calling Smellerbee a 'young man', the two of them didn't come back and sit down... so I had to drabble from that scene!
"I know you're right, as long as Iong as I'm confident about myself, it doesn't matter what people think. Thanks Longshot."
It was the type of thing that came a little awkwardly, after their relationship had taken another jump. Longshot knew that he wanted to keep protecting her. He'd done that so far on the journey.
But yet he hadn't come... out with it...
Not in so many words.
But those words he did say like that, meant a lot. They left Jet to talk to their new friends and walked out to the outside of the ship again, looking out over the dark waters... feeling cool breeze strike them.
As they stared out, standing side by side, Longshot reached down and took her hand. They exchanged a look, saying it all and continued to watch the rocking water as they pressed their palms together.
Longshot thought back to the others they had left behind for now. The Duke and Pipsqueak. Two that always made him laugh... on the inside. He never laughed and rarely smiled.
He wouldn't have left and come out this far, to go to Ba Sing Sei if it wasn't for her... and somehow he thought she must already know. After all, his hand was against hers and Jet was inside.
The closeness between them growing instant by instant.
He could tell something in her voice this time by the way she said 'thanks, Longshot' and he liked the acknowledgement...

This is a pretty rough drabble. I like my ones under the name "And He was Gone" or something... they're worth the look for all Smellershot/Longerbee fans.
& check out the C2 dedicated to them (and all freedom fighters) under my profile!
If you LOVE this ship, I also wrote them into my story "Queen of Omashu" - chapter 3... when Sokka comes across them... :D
Press the pretty button below and write something so I know if there is anyone actually reading! (take pity on me a humble fluff writer...)
