All of my stories will be set in the same world before or during Sasuke and Sakura's relationship. This is while they're dating and living together.
Backstory: Sasuke returned to the village after killing Itachi and getting his revenge. He doesn't know the truth about Danto's involvement and Itachi's true motives. He was pardoned and rised through the ranks as a ninja and is slowly rebuilding his bonds. He's been dating Sakura for almost a year.
11:58pm
Sakura was fast asleep in the big soft bed she shared with her boyfriend. The past few weeks that she moved in with Sasuke have been some of the happiest in her life.
She was in a deep sleep when a loud BANG woke her up. The noise came from the kitchen. Her eyes shot open and she sat up.
"Sasuke! Sasuke wake up!" she whispered in an alarmed tone.
She peered at the other side of the bed where Sasuke slept and could only see darkness.
"Sasuke?" she tried shoving her boyfriend awake but there was no one there.
Sakura carefully stood up just wearing her tiny pink night gown. She tip toed to the door and slowly opened the door barely wide enough for her to squeeze out. She could see the kitchen light was on. She was scared it would be a burglar around the corner and she was in no condition to fight and Sasuke was missing.
She pushed her back against the wall and scooted to the edge of the wall leading to the kitchen. Slowly, she peered around the wall and saw…. Sasuke in his pajamas lifting a chair back up that he apparently kicked over.
"Sasuke what are you doing?"
He snapped his head up and looked at her shocked that she was awake.
"Oh, Sakura. I didn't want you to see this. Not now."
"See what?" Sakura walked into their kitchen and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Sasuke lifted up from under the table a small box wrapped in purple paper with a white bow on top and a bouquet of flowers.
"I was going to arrange the flowers with your presents for a surprise in the morning," Sasuke tentatively explained, "Happy birthday, Sakura."
She turned around and saw their wall clock read 12:01 am. It was her birthday. Sakura ran up to her boyfriend and swung her arms around his neck. He hugged her waist and lifted her up. He sat her down and they kissed.
"Can I open this?" she asked looking at the box.
He smirked and nodded; being nice was still new to him.
She tore off the wrapping paper to see a framed picture of just the two of them out for a walk. He was grinning in the photo. She hadn't noticed how happy he looked at the time, but now she has photographic evidence that he's happy sometimes.
"Oh Sasuke-kun I love it!" Sakura exclaimed before hugging him tightly for a long time.
Sasuke lifted her up and carried her bridal style back to their bedroom.
"Sasuke-kun, I know it's only been a few minutes, but this has been the best birthday ever," Sakura admitted.
"If you're happy, I'm happy."
The End
