She unplugged the charger cord from her back. Little Caroline had never felt any better than right now. Three hours of sleep mode while refilling her battery pack is a dream to any robots. Who knew an initial charge could be so delightful?
She stepped off the metallic plate she had slept on, and moved her joints to make sure they are working. She walked around as she marveled at the tiny cubicle she's in.
"Wow." She paced around the room, while her metallic legs clanked against the solid ground. She loved the feeling of freshly off the dock.
"Had a good night's of sleep?" The chief architect walked in via a sliding door to the side of the space. His eyes looking weary, his lab coat creased up and dirty, but from some degree you can see he kept himself together for her.
"I certainly did. Good morning, dad!" Caroline enthusiastically replied and she sprung to hug him.
The robot threw her arms around the engineer, grabbed him tightly and would not let him go.
"Okay, okay," He coughed, "You can stop now, Caroline."
She released her embrace, appearing slightly disappointed by his reaction. "Aw."
"I'm sorry." A grave Caroline apologized.
"Don't do that." He touched her steel-built cheeks to cheer her up. "I'm here to chat."
"Yay! What are we going to be discussing, dad?"
"A bit about you." He smiled, "You love science, do you?"
She happily nodded. "I'm just afraid that I will accidentally die in the process."
"Then you'll have to be more careful. Do it only when I'm here. The lab is a scary place, and even I'm on the verge of killing myself sometimes," he laughed, "If you die, then I don't have much of a reason to be alive."
"Can we high-five for that?" Caroline giggled.
"Sure."
The daughter only dared to lightly hit his palm.
"I hope I don't hurt you with my hand."
"They didn't, Caroline," he reassured, "They didn't."
"Give me a minute," he began to leave, "I'll bring you to someplace fun."
"Will we be on a picnic?" She blissfully asked, "Or a hike along mountains?"
"I'm not telling you yet! You will find out later."
She waved goodbye to the architect as he slowly walk towards the door, and disappears into the void.
"See you in a minute, dad!"
"In a minute!" He yelled back.
