Ok, this is yet another little short story. I didn't get too indepth with it because it's just a prototype before I attempt to write a real story once again. This was just a little plot bunny nagging at me. It's simple and right to the point. Sorry for it being so short and...well, just plain sucky. I promise that when I get back in my groove, I'll write something really good! -Ducki
"Sakura-chan!"
sigh
"Don't worry, I'll get you-AH!"
"Naruto, you forgot about the last part of the exercise didn't you?"
"What?! Who threw that kunai??!"
sigh "Naruto..."
Sakura blew a strand of bubble colored hair from her her emerald eyes. 'How did I get pulled into this?' she though to herself while analyzing her current situation. She was tied to a tree playing the damsel in distress for today's rookie exercise. She watched Naruto dodge a few more shuriken and kunai. Everyone was searching for her. In order to win the race (and avoid harsh training for the day), each team had to solve the puzzle of her location. And to put the icing on this cake...they also had to get past the 'guard' in order to release her from the tree. And just guess who the 'guard' happened to be...The Neji Huuga. The pearly-eyed badass suddenly jumped from Sakura's tree and stood in front of her protectively.
"Try not to kill him Neji-kun."
"Hn."
So many others had reached her but failed to get past the Huuga. Not even Rock Lee could get his hands on her so she knew that Naruto didn't stand a chance. Sakura watched her 'guard' closely. It goes without saying that he had surprised her on more than one occasion today. It was just a game but she could plainly see that Neji took it seriously and a step too far. From what she heard, however, he volunteered to guard. And being tied to a tree all day gave Sakura the time to reflect on his actions. But she just couldn't get his mumbled words out of her head. "You will not touch my Sakura." he would say to every single person who got too close. She just could understand it. Sakura eyed him as he took a defensive stance as Naruto made about a hundred shadow clones. She smiled softly as the routine was played out once more...just like with everyone else today.
"I'll get you from the tree Sakura. Believe it!"
"You will not touch my Sakura."
And that's all folks. You can review it or you can just scoff and go on to another better story...-Ducki
