Allies in darkness

I waded through the mako river of the Nibelheim plant, looking for his docile body. If research is correct, mako should not cripple a man, especially one as strong as him; it may cripple a normal man, but he should be safe. If only I could find him.

My spiked hair was lieing flat in some places, dampened by mako, but the inky colour would not fade. I thought of my family, and how much i would like to see them again. But I had to find him. The anomyly had thrown him into this pool of mako, and then took his fancy-thing and left. I was knocked unconcious, by him, but it was an act, a rouge to kill the anomyly.

Suddenly, i saw a narrow, black object floating in the lake.on closer inspection, I saw it was a sword, a long sword, and one i recognised greatly.

The masamune.

It was his sword. I reached out to touch it, and immediately regretted it. A searing paing rippled up my spine, making me spasm, nearly submerging me in the mako.

But it did force me to look down, and see two of the brightest eyes in existence. The vivid aqua pools stared at me, lifelessly.

I made a reach for them, and found a body. Pulling it up, I found him, in his tight leather suit, and moist silver hair. He was stiff as a board. I pulled him out of the mako, and could hear a deepthroated voice coming from inside his chest.

"The anomyly is stronger than he looks. I couldn't get the masamune into him. He just held on."

"Sephiroth, you can live." I replied.

"No I won't Zack. Gaia wants me to return to the lifestream. But I will fight. I will live in spirit only, until I find a suitable host. Just do me one favour."

"Anything."

"Save my Mother."

And with that, he dissapeared, seemingly evaporated into the air, like dust in the wind.

My arms still craded like they held a baby, I weeped.

Weeped over my ally in dark ness
