The Storm
((SO this is one of the requested stories frommm cantatacellist and they requested so JadexKarkat where one of them has a phobia of thunder, I saw this and squealed, I just love it.. SO here I go! ))
Be Jade -
You know how animals have that sense of a storm coming? Well you do and the sense is tingling right now. Your ears twitch a bit in discomfort, gosh you really hated storms, thunder had always hurt your ears but with the dog ears it made it ten times worse! You roam around the house looking for your companion and as the trolls call it, matesprite, Karkat Vantas. You could smell his scent from a mile away and you end up locating him quickly. He is at his husktop just looking over previous pesterlogs and was lying in bed. You run in and quickly crawl into bed next to him, shivering slightly as thunder cracked in the distance.
"Karkat oh my gosh a storm is coming and you know I hate storms they just make me sooooo scared and they hurt my ears and augh!" You manage this entire sentence out in one breath and then you hear him give a small sigh and setting the laptop to the side.
"Shit Harley, well okay just sit here with me we can talk or something like that." You giggle because you and he both know he isn't the most being out there. He only wraps his arm around your waist, sincerely trying to comfort you but really kind of failing.
Be Karkat -
Well shit, this wasn't good. Another boom of thunder and this one was closer. You really are trying to comfort Jade but it isn't turning out so well for you. Her ears go down and she whimpers softly, gog she looked so damn adorable and you wished you could help her more but you honestly don't know how too. You try to think back to all those romcoms you watched, thinking it might give you something to go off of but your search was unsuccessful.
"Hey Jade, i-it's okay, just calm the fuck down and the storm will pass." You sound so damn calm and you hope that will help calm the girl that is currently shaking beside you.
"I know it will pass Karkat! I'm sorry but the thunder just scares me…" She sounds sad and you curse yourself mentally and take a deep breath, you could do this. The rain picked up and whipped against the window, sounding like a bunch of tiny pins hitting it. He pulls the islander into his lap and pets her hair softly.
"I-I know just fuck… I'm sorry but you and I both know I'm not good with shit like this," She gives a small shrug before leaning back against you. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder, the thunder sounding as if it was right over the house and Jade whimpers loudly, her face going into your shoulder. "Shh.. It's okay… Really Harley, I'm right here," You say as you hold her tightly to her chest and then kiss the tips of her ears softly.

You snuggle closer to Karkat and bury your face into his shoulder; he was so warm you loved lying with him. Karkat held you tightly and began to whisper really cute things into your ears and it made you smile uncontrollably. He told you how he loved you so much and that he would always be there for you. You snuggle closer to the troll's chest and only listen to his words as the storm rages on.
