alright, here's my first story for Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. hope you like it

Aoi sighed as she walked to school, feeling bad about how things turned out. While it was great that her brother showed how much he cared for her, it wasn't all peaches and cream. Her brother locked her out of Link VRAINS for a month as punishment. Also, the top brass had demoted Akira. They said it was because of what happened with her and the secret being kept. Though Aoi felt like there was more to it. Thankfully, even with the demotion, he was still making enough to keep the penthouse. She felt bad. Not only did she fail to get the AI for her brother, but her actions resulted in his demotion and replacement with a guy who needs to take a ton of chill pills.

Meanwhile, Yusaku was walking to school, thinking about his duel with Revolver. Now the AI he dubbed 'Ai' had his body back, and was left with even more questions than before. He had heard Akira was demoted, meaning there was something so big at SOL Technology, they didn't want anyone finding out.

As he was walking, he noticed Aoi Zaizen walking with her head down. He knew her brother no longer had a position of power, but she had just experienced something traumatic, and would probably need a friend. Or at least someone who isn't talking to her just for her brother. So he ran up to her, walking next to her. Aoi noticed someone's feet next to hers walking at her pace. She looked up and saw Yusaku.

"Yusaku Fujiki?" Aoi said.

"Aoi Zaizen, it's good to see you up and about," Yusaku said. "I heard you woke up. That's good."

"Thank you, but don't. My brother's been demoted."

"I heard. Sorry about that."

"So why are you talking to me?"

"Remember what you said the last time we talked?" Well, the last time they talked as Yusaku and Aoi.

"I remember."

"I just want you to know. I don't care about that kind of thing. If I wanted the new duel disk, why would I bother using this older model?"

"I suppose that's true. I heard you found me and told my brother what happened."

"Yeah."

They continued walking in silence to school until Aoi broke the silence.

"So... what about you?" Aoi asked, getting Yusaku's attention.

"What do you mean?"

"Pretty much everyone knows about me, but no one knows about you."

'That's kinda the point.'

"So, Yusaku, what do you do when not in school?"

"Not much. I spend most of my time either at home or at Cafe Nagi."

"Cafe Nagi? In the plaza?"

"Yeah. Shoichi Kusanagi has tried to help me. I don't know who my parents were or if they're even alive."

"What do you mean?"

"About ten years ago, I lost my memory and was found along with other children."

"I see. I'm sorry."

"It's alright. If you ever want a hot dog, Shoichi makes some good ones."

"Thank you. I shall consider it."

They reached school, and split off. Aoi let a smile slip out.

"Yusaku... thank you."

and that's it. sorry if it's not that good, but wanted to get something soon for Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. considering where we are now, this was the best I could do for the time being. plus wanted to do something below T
