"Why are you pouting so much?" Rachel finally asked Garfield.
He had been pouting for their entire date, and though Rachel thought it to be better to just ignore it, her curiosity had finally gotten the better of her.
Garfield sighed, and then glumly asked, "I'm your boyfriend, right?"
Rachel looked incredulously at him."What?"
"Just answer the question!"
Scoffing, she said sarcastically, "No, Robin is. You're just my boy toy."
When Garfield began to pout and whine incomprehensibly at what she had just said, Rachel took her words back, telling him that she was just being sarcastic and that it wasn't the truth, though she rolled her eyes as she did so.
"And why exactly did you ask me that?" she questioned a few seconds afterwards.
Garfield was quiet for a while, but then muttered, "My friend – my best friends at that- said that you're my boyfriend, and that I'm your girlfriend."
Then, more loudly, he began to rant. "And that's not fair! So what if you're not a girly girl like Kori? I mean, Cyborg's girlfriend Bee isn't girly either and nobody calls him a girl!"
Before he could continue the rant, before he could even utter a word, Rachel leaned over and kissed him on the lips, making him blush instantly.
"You have nothing to worry about," Rachel told him, chuckling slightly, "I'm your girlfriend and you're my boyfriend. If others don't feel that way, then who cares? As long as we both know the truth. Now, come on and let's continue our date, boyfriend."
From then on, through out the rest of their date, the dopey smile on Garfield's face never vanished and never faltered. Then again he always did have a dopey smile on his face.
