So this is my first fanfiction...and I'm nervous. :O I hope you guys don't hate it, but if it's absolute crap please review and make sure to let me know! Thanks!

Kaldur'ahm briefly wondered how everything could have gone so wrong, even by their standards. M'gann had become unconscious long ago. Much too long. He held her close in his arms and tried to avoid falling into her condition while he attempted to get a breath of oxygen in. A hard goal to achieve due to the ring of intense fire that surrounded them both.

He brushed the sweat off his brow and looked to where Wally and Artemis were chained to the same pillar, one of the few non-crumbling pillars left to hold up this warehouse. They both had bruises and the occasional scratch, but were otherwise healthy and struggling to free themselves.

A sudden roar made him look to where Conner was trapped by kryptonite chains (where the clown had gotten those was a mystery to everyone.) The clone of Superman had lost all ability to be reasoned with as soon as M'gann was out and no one had been able to calm him since. He thrashed repeatedly, but the chains appeared to be holding strong.

Thump.

The sound of a crowbar hitting its mark made him wince and brought him back to the final and least fortunate member of the team. The clown had ignored the other members of the Team in favor of torturing "Bat's Baby Bird" as he dubbed Robin. The dark, rusty pool of blood staining the concrete floor surrounding the teen made Kaldur pray for his youngest and smallest team member.

"C'mon Boy Blunder, I'm getting bored here! Sing for your Uncle J," Joker laughed as he swung the crowbar again. Robin was chained to the ground, unable to defend himself, and let out a small gasp when the crowbar broke one of his ribs with a sickening crack. Kaldur was tormented by the sound and berated himself guiltily for failing in his duty as the Team's leader. So far Robin had been able to keep himself from making a sound and his will was obviously crumbling.

"You sick bastard!" Artemis screamed as she strained against the chains, her dirty blond hair stuck to her face by her own dried blood. "Come over here and fight someone who can fight back!"

"Yeah, let us out and we'll show you something to sing about!" Wally instantly joined in. Both of them were obviously more angry then scared and Kaldur wished he could share their courage in their current situation.

He closed his eyes as Joker snapped his fingers, not bothering to even look up. A few seconds later, he heard the sound of Harley Quinn giggling and cartwheeling over to where the two were hurling insults and cringed at Artemis' pained cry, quickly followed by Wally's outraged shout.

He opened his eyes to see a fresh blood dripping down Artemis' face from a new cut Harley had made with her small, sharp knife. Her grey eyes met Kaldur's green and he saw his own frustration and helplessness reflected back in them. Superboy roared once again and Wally's screaming rose to a new level of intensity.

"You bitch! You fu-," he was cut off as Harley gave him a swift slap across the cheek.

"Now that's not very nice," the female clown pouted.

"Kid Flash. Artemis. Superboy. You are not helping," Kaldur called out. He vaguely wondered if his king would be proud of how calm and controlled his voice sounded, before remembering that his king and the rest of the Justice League were currently saving the world once again, unaware of their protégés predicament. The sense of dread he had been feeling increased tenfold.

"You kiddos should really listen to Fish Boy," Joker sniggered as he cleaned blood off the crowbar. Kaldur slowly breathed in and forced himself to recall the previous hours as Joker continued to torture the slowly breaking young boy.

So, should I continue?
