Welcome!

If you are a reader of my Voltron fics, then you may be wondering: "Warryn, what is Artemis Fowl?" (Unless you are an Artemis Fowl fan). Well, in answer to that question, Artemis Fowl is my absolute favourite book series (sorry Harry Potter fans! ); ) and it would be a crime if I didn't write something about it!

And for those of you who don't know who I am and just happened to stumble across this, welcome! This series is just going to be a collection of drabbles between my favourite siblings. I am an absolute sucker for sibling/family love and I want more interaction between Artemis and his younger twin brothers. This won't be updated as regularly as my VLD fics; only when I get the inspiration.

Anyway, enough rambling. Enjoy!

Sleep: a condition of body and mind which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.

For Artemis, sleep was an imperative part of his daily routine. He made sure to be in bed by 22:00 so that he may wake up refreshed every morning at 7:00. His body would be exempt of exhaustion and his mind would be brimming with energy and power. Artemis very rarely allowed anything to disrupt his regular sleeping schedule. He would do half an hour of yoga to relax his body so that his descent into unconsciousness is all the more smooth and straight.

On this night, Artemis was in a state of complete tranquillity. He lay as still as a fallen log with the covers drawn up to his shoulders. His chest rose up and down slowly and rhythmically. His face was lax and snuggled into his pillow like an adorable kitten. To make things even better, it was raining outside. Artemis found the sounds of nature to be incredibly peaceful. He would sometimes sit by the river close to the manor and sort his thoughts in the company of the running water and the chirping birds. Nature was man's greatest treasure and he was rather determined to protect it. This was an endeavour that his mother heartily approved of and his father encouraged. Even the Fairies couldn't go against Artemis' goals when they were centred around environmental protection.

But for now, Artemis' mind did not dwell on his plans and goals. His conscious was switched off while his subconscious delved into fantastical worlds that would be erased from his mind the moment he regained consciousness. And that would not be until 7:00 in the morning.

BANG!

Artemis jumped out of consciousness violently as a deafening crash echoed all around. His heart rate had quickened slightly from his hasty awakening and his eyes flickered all over his room to find the danger. There was another crash, this time accompanied by a blinding flash of light from outside.

Oh. It was just a storm.

Artemis laid back down and buried himself underneath the blankets again. He was not afraid of thunder by any means. Any human would wake up to a loud sound, and, despite his brilliant mind, Artemis was human. He was also a sleepy human. His eyes fluttered closed and the sweet embrace of sleep began to surround him. He would have fallen into it completely as well if there hadn't been another disturbance, for the next crash of thunder was also accompanied by a bang from a closer distance.

Artemis gasped and darted up into a sitting position. He yelped when he felt to lumps bulldoze into his and crawl beneath his blankets, never once losing contact with his body.

Artemis sighed irritated and held the bridge of his nose. Why? Why did this have to happen?

"Shouldn't you two be in your own beds?" Artemis grumbled at the two quivering lumps lodged to his sides.

"Yeah, we'll go back!" The lump to his left replied.

Another crash of thunder. The lumps began to shake more and two pairs of hands latched themselves onto Artemis' pyjamas.

"M-maybe in a while." The lump on the right said.

Artemis exhaled deeply. This was not his area of expertise. This kind of stuff should be left to his parents or Butler, not him! Unfortunately, the hands were gripping him too tightly. There was no way he was going to be able to get out of his bed. Sighing once again – this time in defeat – Artemis lifted up his blankets to meet two pairs of wide eyes peering up at him.

On his left, Artemis saw a mop of blonde curls framing bright, plump cheeks. On his right, he saw fine, sleek, black hair and a pale face. Both pairs of eyes were a piercing blue, and both faces had frowns.

'Actually,' Artemis observed closely. 'Their eyes are glistening.'

"Beckett, Myles, go back to your own beds." Artemis groaned tiredly.

"We will!" Beckett assured him. "Once the giants stop stomping around!"

"I have told you before Beckett, there aren't any giants in the clouds!" Myles snapped at his twin. "When ice crystals in the clouds rub against smaller ice crystals with a positive charge, they gain a negative charge and gather at the bottom of the cloud. They are attracted to the oppositely-charged ground and they meet each other in a bolt of electricity. Simultaneously, the air around them rapidly expand and heat, causing a loud clapping sound. There are no giants!"

"Well done." Artemis complimented, only very mildly impressed.

"Well, if you know so much about it, then why are you still afraid of it?" Beckett demanded loudly.

"I'm not afraid!" Beckett defended himself with a squeak and blushing cheeks. "I-I just had to make sure you didn't go and run into the door or something, you simple-toon!"

"Hey!" Beckett cried out indignantly. "I know how to open doors!"

"Oh really? Then what about that time when-"

Myles was cut off by another clap and flash. The twins grabbed the blanket from Artemis' hands and pulled it back over themselves in perfect synchronisation. They both fell silent and resumed their shivering.

"Okay," Myles admitted after a short while. "Maybe I don't really like the loud bangs."

"I don't like the light." Beckett agreed with a muffled whimper.

Artemis remained silent. Even if he hadn't been incredibly adept at analysing situations, he could tell that his younger brothers were terrified. Now that the problem had been identified, he had to fix it. This was where Artemis struggled. He had very little experience with young children and vast amounts of research had shown him that children are very sensitive and can be fairly emotional at times. He was on dangerous ground here. He would have to tread carefully.

Once again, Artemis raised the blanket and looked down at his brothers.

"There's nothing to be afraid of." Artemis told them gently. "Lightening can only kill you if you're the highest object in the immediate area."

Myles didn't like being told something he already knew and looked at his brother with an annoyed scowl. Beckett, on the other hand, seemed very relieved by the news. The blanket was pushed all the way back so that the twins could sit upright fully.

"That doesn't stop it from being very bright though." Beckett pointed out. "Or loud."

"Unfortunately, very little can be done about that." Artemis said. "You both will just have to wait the storm out. Now, both of you, back to your beds."

"But-"

The next crash of thunder resulted in Beckett and Myles hurling themselves at their older brother. They wrapped their arms around his waist in crushing grips and buried their heads into his chest. Artemis' hands were raised as if a bomb had just been thrown into his lap. Actually, a bomb would be better right now because he could easily diffuse it within a few seconds. This was different though. Humans couldn't really be diffused – much less children!

Artemis was shocked when his arms began to lower so that his hands could gently cup his brothers' heads. He didn't learn about doing this, but he knew to do it anyway. How curious. It would seem that he was still susceptible to human instincts driven by emotion after all! And they seemed to be working since the young boys had stopped shivering and were cuddling him now more than squeezing him. For now, he would allow his instincts to lead him since they seemed to be yielding better results than his knowledge.

Artemis' hands began to run through the boys' hair softly. Beckett's hair was slightly rough and sticky with treacle – I thought he'd had a bath today! – while Myles' hair was smooth and silky. They began to lay heavily against Artemis' abdomen as they relaxed. They tensed and whimpered again when the thunder crashed.

"Ssh, ssh." Artemis hushed comfortingly, slowly rocking the two boys. He laid back into his pillows so that his body was still slightly elevated. Beckett and Myles curled up into their respective sides with one hand gripping onto Artemis' sleeping shirt. Artemis released the blanket momentarily to pull the blanket over the three of them. The younger boys snuggled into the elder's chest. Beckett stuck his other thumb into his mouth in an attempt to remain calm. Artemis thought that they had fallen asleep, but the muffled whines at the next flash of lightening proved him wrong. He followed his instincts once again and began to hum a tune he heard on one of his mother's records.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,

You make me happy when skies are grey,

You'll never know dear, how much I love you,

Please don't take my sunshine away.

The other night dear, as I lay sleeping,

I dreamed I held you in my arms,

But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken,

So I bowed my head and I cried.

I'll always love you and make you happy,

If you will only say the same,

But if you leave me and love another,

You'll regret it all someday.

You told me once, dear, you really loved me,

And no one else could come between,

But now you've left me and love another;

You have shattered all of my dreams.

In all my dreams, dear, you seem to leave me.

When I awake my poor heart pains,

So when you come back and make me happy,

I'll forgive you dear, I'll take all the blame.

You're still my sunshine, my only sunshine,

You make me happy when skies are grey,

You'll never know dear, how much I love you,

Please don't take my sunshine away."

Artemis trailed off softly before yawning widely. Looking down, he saw both of his brothers, content and asleep. When thunder crashed again neither of them stirred. Satisfied, Artemis laid back again and swiftly fell back into his state of rejuvenation.

Angeline Fowl was running around the mansion in a frenzy.

It was 8:30 and the twins had not come into their bedroom to bounce on their bed yet!

This was concerning because Beckett and Myles always bounced of hers and Timmy's bed to wake them up between 7:00 and 7:30. Artemis Senior had tried his hardest to calm his worried wife when they found that the twins were not in their beds.

"They may already be in the kitchen having breakfast." He tried to reassure her.

"But they didn't wake us up Timmy!" Angeline replied, close to hyperventilating. "They always come to wake us up!"

"Calm down dear!" Timmy consoled her kindly. "How about we go ask Arty if he's seen them before we lose our heads?"

Angeline panted deeply a few times before resting in a calm enough state to think straight.

"Okay." She conceded. "We go to Arty first, then we get Butler to help us look for them."

"Of course." Her husband replied. But she was already racing off down the hall with light, silent steps. Artemis Senior sighed deep and hobbled after her as quickly as he could with his prosthetic.

When Angeline reached her eldest son's room, she was amazed to find the door open. Her Arty was a rather closed child, both with his person and his door. Curiously, she peeked inside. She almost melted at the scene before her.

The blankets had fallen off the left side of the bed. Artemis was laid on his back with Myles curled up into his right side like a little puppy, snoring softly. Beckett, on the other hand, was strewn over Artemis' chest with one foot hanging off the bed and his mouth wide open, snoring loudly. Artemis was still sleeping rather peacefully with both of his arms wrapped around his brothers protectively.

Angeline sighed happily, tears beading in her eyes. For such a long time, she had troubled over whether or not her sons would all get along. Seeing them all cuddling together was just so reassuring and cute! Snickering, she drew her phone from her dressing gown pocket and took a few photos of her sons for the scrapbook.

Maybe for Facebook as well.

"Angeline!" Timmy panted as he approached Arty's room. "What's wrong?"

"Ssh!" Angeline silenced her husband and looked back to her sons. Timmy also peeked in and chuckled at the sight before him.

"I told you they'd get along." He told his wife quietly.

"I know." Angeline replied, too overjoyed to be annoyed. "We should leave them for a little while longer."

"I agree." Timmy said as he reached for the doorknob and slowly pulled the door closed. "Maybe we can enjoy a few more hours of peace before the twins wake up."

"Maybe we can convince Arty to look after them today." Angeline suggested, linking her arm with her husband's.

"You're joking!" Timmy chuckled heartily. "The fact that they're sharing a bed is a miracle enough; don't push your luck! They may need a few more months before they can survive each other for a whole day."

Angeline chuckled alongside her love as they descended downstairs to take a morning stroll through the garden before breakfast. While the Fowls had overcome many obstacles, they truly were happy, and Angeline Fowl couldn't be any more in love with her boys.

Warryn: IT'S SO FLUFFY! I'M GONNA DIE!

Artemis: Maybe then you'll stop writing embarrassing and incriminating material against my reputation.

Warryn: Oh hush! We all know that you're just a big softie deep down!

Artemis: I will set Butler on you!

Anyway, I will see you all in my next chapter! Whether it will be Lance or Artemis, I'm not completely sure.

'You are my sunshine' is by Johnny Cash and is one of the sweetest songs in existence. Also, Beckett is a smol innocent jellybean who must be protected at all costs!

Until next time, my wonderful readers!
