PROLOGUE:
"Be my girlfriend?" A raven-haired boy asked while holding a bouquet of sunflowers in his hands, kneeling. Sunflowers because it is so like her – a symbol of happiness and light. The happiness and light in the boy's life. The only thing that made the raven-haired boy realized that there is more to life than grief and pain. The only thing that made him agree that life is indeed a joyride and it is something to be enjoyed about.
"Oh," the auburn-haired girl can only say, her hands on her mouth trying to control the emotions enveloping her whole being. Saying that she was shocked with the sudden proposal is an understatement. She was utterly shocked and disbelief is written all over her face.
Who wouldn't be? She was a commoner and he was the son of the wealthiest man in Japan. In the eyes of the higher society, they are not meant to be. There is not even a remote chance for them to be together. But here he is, kneeling in front of the whole Gakuen Alice community, asking her to become his girl. Who wouldn't be surprised? She feels like being Cinderella right now.
They are not someone who people can actually quote as friends. They bicker a lot and they say nasty things about each other. But people that are close to them knows that the two actually cared about each other.
"This is so sudden Natsume-kun. I don't know what to say." She said. Never in her life that she imagined that the boy would actually reciprocate her feelings.
"Just answer the question honestly, Mikan. Even a stupid girl like you can answer it. A simple yes will do," Natsume said arrogantly but his lips curved into a small smile.
Mikan glared at him because of the insult. "I'm not stupid! What a great way to ruin the moment, Natsume."
Natsume chuckled. "Come on, I need an answer. I am letting myself to look like an idiot for you so don't you dare say no to me."
Mikan beamed at him widely as her tears started to form in her eyes. "Yes. Of course, Natsume. I will be you girlfriend."
And she took the bouquet in his hands as he stood up and pulled her into a hug. The people watching them – including their friends – cheered for the new ironic couple.
Yes, ironic. They are the complete opposite of each other. She is cheerful and the light while he is cold and mysterious.
But their differences can be settled as long as they have each other. And that's all that matters.
With each other, they feel complete. They feel that everything is in right places and nothing will go wrong.
With each other, they found love.
And that makes them perfect for each other.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Prologue done! This story officially marks my comeback. Hooray, for me! It's been a long time since I've posted anything on this website. So yeah, about the story. It wouldn't be that long. I'm planning to make this a three-shot. :D It is actually based on the song "Starting Over Again" and if you're a Filipino, this story will resemble the newly released movie with the same title.
I miss getting reviews, can I please get some? Thank you for reading! :D
`Cute-chan. :)
