I don't own the song Weeping performed by Josh Groban
I don't own Naruto
This idea always pops into my head when I hear this song.. I don't know why, probably because I'm a little too obsessed with Naruto but who knows... I finally decided to get it out of my head and onto paper.
It wasn't roaring, it was weeping
"The beast has been contained!" The man thundered over the crowd. "The monster will never hurt anyone ever again!" He roared over the cheers. "The stronghold will keep you all safe from this demon!" He stood tall and proud on top of the newly built prison, his white and red robes billowing behind him in the wind as he looked down on the crowd. "The beast roars withing but these walls will hold it." He raised the torch in his hand up in the air and as he let it descend down to the edge of the roof he spoke his final words. "The fire symbolizes our victory!" His torch fell into the oil filled moat, soon the ominous building was surrounded by flame. "The fire will protect us, like the fire in all of you! You who fight to protect this village. Let this be a reminder for us, look at the fire and remember those who gave their lives for this. Our freedom. The nightmare ends here!"
The crowed below him kept cheering. Gazing up at their leader until he walked out of view. All that was left was the huge stronghold. Black bricks, steel and fire and the Anbu guards patrolling the wall. Like ghosts they roamed back and forth, white masks and black cloaks swaying in the wind.
The building caused quite a stir in the small village. Curious souls came to look at the prison containing the most fearsome demon of the land. They stood outside looking, listening. Hoping and not hoping to catch a glimpse or hear the roar of the beast.
Most cheered, some brave enough spit or threw rocks at the black walls. The monster would never escape.
But some questioned. Was it really safe? Was the beast really there? Was all this really necessary? The Hokage and his underlings worked hard to stop the inquiries. They didn't have to explain anything, there was peace now and that should be enough.
No one really knew the truth. People kept coming to gaze at the stronghold. Weather they were there to cheer or protest it didn't matter. The building stood. Strong. Tall. Terrifying. Safe.
But no one heard it. The roaring beast. And so they wondered.
There was one who knew though.
Deep inside the prison. Outside a heavily secured room. In a dark hallway under the ground sat a lone Anbu guard. Kneeling on the ground, eyes gazing at his hands through the black holes in his mask. His black Anbu cloak covering everything but his unruly silver hair and his emotionless dog porcelain mask.
They said it was roaring but he knew. Only he knew.
It wasn't roaring... it was weeping.
Yeah it's mean.. The third has basically locked baby Naruto in a huge prison because he's afraid of the demon he contains.
