The TARDIS materialised.

The Lieutenant put on the hologram.

They were in a television store.

"Lieutenant, why are we here?" asked Kellie.

"For a cable." said the Lieutenant. "There's a cable missing from the console. Once we have it, we can get sports channels, Intergalactic Book of Records lates record updates, you name it."

"Oh my God, wow, but they're very expensive."

"Why do you think I landed in 1981?" asked the Lieutenant.

Kellie laughed.

The Lieutenant turned off the hologram. He took out £3. "Ok, Kellie, take this and get me a cable and come back please."

The Lieutenant went out to the kitchen and took out a tool box from a cupboard. It was darkish in the kitchen.

Something fell of the counter.

Startled to be this close to him, the Lieutenant said "I'm telling you, get off the TARDIS or I'll..."

"You'll what?" it asked.

For the 1st time in his very long life, the Lieutenant didn't know what to say. He snatched up the tool box and returned to the console room just as Kellie returned to the TARDIS.

"Thank you." said the Lieutenant and proceeded to taking off the face panel of the console where the hologram button sparks flying and the cable he started work installing it. His biggest problem was getting the face panel back on. Twice he said "No, that's upside-down." and once he said "No, that's not right, **** this."

"Lieutenant, let me." said Kellie. Kellie got it perfect in one go. "There."

"Thank you. Kellie, I think this is the right time to tell you. I'm bisexual."

For a minute Kellie stood staring at him. Then she said "Of course you are. You've regenerated male and female in the past. It must be hard to keep it straight in your head." she smiled.

'That's not what I meant.' thought the Lieutenant.

"So, where next?" asked Kellie.

Then the central console went dark.

A darkish face appeared.

"Who's that?" asked Kellie. "Is it kind?"

"No, it's not kind." said the Lieutenant. "But as he's in the central console, he's got control of the TARDIS. I think he's going to decide where next."

"Will we be safe?" asked Kellie.

"Not necessarily." said the Lieutenant.

"But who is it?" aske Kellie.

The TARDIS materialised.

"It's Grue." whispered the Lieutenant.
