Hey guys so I'm giving the romance genre a whirl. I am only a few chapters into writing this and I did that on purpose this time. I want to write this as I get reviews from all of you so please, please, please give some feedback and ideas. Also if you couldn't tell from the description this is about Ezio and his apprentice, Clarina.

I do not own Assassin's Creed or any of the characters, I just like to use them to play out my own internal fantasies. Now, on with the show!

I stood completely still, watching the crowds shift this way and that from the top of the building. At the moment I couldn't quite make out individual people, but that was okay, I didn't have to yet, not until I heard the trumpets that would announce my targets arrival. "Are you nervous, Clarina?" I heard my master, Ezio ask me. He was a little older than me and ruggedly handsome. He had been thrown into the world of assassins after the death of his family, after seeking out his revenge he started scouting for others to join the creed. And me, a street rat, had been chosen for my agility.

I shook my head. "No, I mean, I'm not scared to take out my first mark, I'm scared of getting caught." I admitted. Me Ezio didn't exactly have a professional relationship, he was a playboy, and I was reckless, and we made the perfect combination. "Although, I know I shouldn't, you'll be waiting up here to help me if things get too out of hand."

Before he could reply the trumpets down below sounded off, and I turned on my eagle vision, waiting to make out the face of Giovanni, my target. He was only a general for the Templars, but Ezio figured it would be better for me to start with something small, and it would still make a difference, leaning the scales just a little more towards the creed.

It took me a moment, but I finally found Giovanni. "Do you got him?" Ezio asked me, when he saw me start to shift. "I'm not walking you through it this time, you've had plenty of training, just keep your form, kill him, and get out as fast as possible." He instructed me one more time. I walked to the edge of the roof, looking down at the hay stack beneath me. I took a deep breath and leapt.

Leap of faith is an appropriate term for the maneuver, sure some of it has to do with your physical ability. A lot of it, though, has to do with just praying that the distance is right and that there was enough hay, leaves, or whatever you may be jumping into, to cushion the fall. Just as I had finished my prayer I felt the hay engulf me, thank god I was safe.

I stuck my head out of the dry grass looking around the area, using my eagle vision once again to relocate my target. Once I found him, I climbed out of the hay and found a large crowd to blend in with. Sure, I wasn't wanted, and no one would recognize my face, but the less people that noticed me right before I assassinated someone the better.

I made my way to the edge of the crowd and waited, just like the conceited show off he was the Templars were walking down the middle of the court yard, forcing the crowds around him to split and notice him. He waved as if he was a king, soaking up the attention. I tried to remember what Ezio had taught me, we should always pray that our victims find peace, it was hard with this douche though, he deserved to get lost in purgatory.

Once he made right in front of me, I took a calm step out, released my wrist blade, and easily inserted it into his neck, swiftly killing him. I took a split second, before anyone had fully registered what I had done, to send him a blessing, before booking it towards a wall I knew I could scale. Half way to the wall I heard people screaming and guards shouting.

I made it almost to the top of the building before the templar guards found me, and cleared the surrounding area of civilians. I wasn't focused anymore, I thought that I was home free, I thought that I had gotten away unscathed. That's when I felt a sudden pain in my left leg. I let out a scream losing my grip. I panicked, my sudden movements jerked me off balance, and made me lose my grip, I was going to fall, and at that height, I was going to die.

As soon as my hand let go go the wall something grabbed it. I looked up to see Ezio, in the same second I was suddenly up ontop of the roof. I was humiliated, I had done so well, but let something as small as not defending myself ruin it. I reached down and snapped the part of the arrow sticking out off, leaving the rest in. "I can run." I nodded at him, he just grunted in reply and took off into the night.

It only took us a couple of minutes to lose the guards and go to our meeting place. "I'm sorry Ezio, I just I thought it would take the Templars longer to find me…" I trailed off, and looked up into the stars. "Can we just go back home now?" I asked him. He just rested a hand, gently, on top of my hood.

"Let's go." He said and walked over to the dried-up fountain, turned a couple of the knobs, opening the secret passage. I followed him down into it. According to Ezio the order didn't use to have this, inner city base, but while discovering the creed, he had also discovered underground tunnels, which the order now used for as a residential branch.

Once we got inside our room he lit the lamps and laid me on the bed. "We'll get that arrow out of there and get you cleaned up, in a week max, you should be up and moving again." He explained, and grabbed a cloth and a bottle of alcohol. I let myself slip into a deep sleep, one that I probably shouldn't have let myself into, but I didn't want to feel the pain.
