AN: Okay, here it is, and don't be put off by how short it is, I know its barely hits the five hundreds, but this is like the prologue, don't worry lol! The next chapter will be much longer!

She sat at her usual table in the darkest corner of the cafeteria, away from the mindless chatter of the teenagers she was forced to interact with each day. Above her, water dripped from the ancient ceiling, falling inches away from her slim body. With pale fingers, she touched a bagel under the pretence she was going to eat the food the cafeteria workers had prepared for her. Disgusting, even by human standards.

The heavy cafeteria door shuddered closed with a loud click and five more people entered. She looked up through her lashes to see them, the new additions to Forks High School, the 'newcomers'. Abruptly, silence filled the long hall which was the cafeteria, replacing the chatter of hormonal teenagers. Each pair of eyes followed their every move, fascinated with the new recruits.

Under her breath she chuckled, amused at how easily the human mind was entertained, before five other pairs of eyes glanced around trying to detect the laughter. Quickly, she averted her eyes, careful to shield her face with her hair from unwanted observers. She felt their eyes linger for a moment, before dismissing the laughter as a figment of their imagination.

They sat down at the only remaining table in the cluttered cafeteria, their trays piled high with food they knew already they wouldn't eat. Several of the more courageous humans stepped forward, some advancing towards them before feeling a wave of instinctive fear as their unusual eyes stared them down. The light above them caused their pale skin to sparkle, invisible to any but an exceptionally observant vampire, or someone like her.

The pale skin, a result of where they had lived previously - Alaska. Their father, a widely credited surgeon had moved to Forks under the suggestion of his wife, who was fond of forestry, making Forks the ideal place for them. Their adopted children, of course, came with them and enrolled in Forks High School.

Or at least, that was the story the public knew, the only story they had ever heard and had no reason to doubt. There was only a select few who knew the true story of their family, the story concealed behind the carefully planned lies, their kind was so fond of. She was one of those few who, unknown to them, knew the whole story.

Yeah, I know. Just sort of adding to my prediction - its short, I know. The next chapter will be much longer! Anyway, now please review!

OH, CAN YOU GUESS WHO'SHE' IS AND WHO 'THEY' ARE????

Review!

Peace out.
