Taste of You

Arthur Kirkland stood on his front porch, balancing a bag of groceries in one hand as he fished his keys out. Stepping through the door, he shuffled off his shoes and walked into the kitchen. He carefully placed the paper bags down when he heard an odd clinking sound.

'That's odd,' He walked into his living room to see his boyfriend, Alfred F. Jones, sitting on his couch with a mug in hand. He looked up from his drink and grinned back.

"Hey Arthur!"

"Bloody hell, when did you get here?" The Briton sighed and plopped onto the couch next to him. He loosened his tie and stared suspiciously at the mug in Alfred's hands. In response, the American took a long sip of the drink. "And how did you get coffee? I don't have a coffee maker."

Alfred placed the mug back onto the coffee table. "You really should get one. " He leaned forward and captured the other's lips. Arthur let out a surprised gasp and Alfred took the opportunity to explore Arthur's mouth. He could hear Arthur moan underneath him and he pushed the Briton down so he was laying down on the couch, Alfred on top. Arthur's hands slid up the American's arms and tangled in his hair. He began kissing back, fighting the blue-eyed country for dominance.

That's when he noticed that his boyfriend tasted… different. It was familiar somehow.

They broke apart, both panting and out of breath. Arthur's eyebrows knit in confusion as he stared at his former colony. "Were you drinking tea?" Alfred smirked guiltily, like he were caught in some terrible act. "I thought you hated tea."

"I don't like the taste of tea," Alfred replied, "but you always taste like tea. So then I decided that tea tastes like Arthur." He leaned in and gave said country a swift kiss. "And I love the taste of you."

He stood up and grabbed his bomber jacket off the couch, walking to the door. "I only came to see you before I went back home. I missed you." And with that, he left.

Arthur gave a small smile when he left. Looking back down at the discarded mug still full of Earl Gray, he muttered to himself, "I missed you too, you silly git." He picked up the cup and brought it to his lips, right over the brown crescent shape that was already there. He let the liquid roll over his tongue, savoring the bitter taste. Underneath the tea, there was another distinct flavor. It tasted like coffee and hamburgers. Like Alfred.

"I love the taste of you too."
