Happy really late Valentines day! Eh-heh, this story was supposed to be up a few Saturdays ago. (heck the meat of this story was all written that day!) Oh well, I always say better late than never ^_^ Also; this story has a lot of major Raven and BB references, as well as Starfire and Robin references.
Uhhhmmm let's see I do not own: Teen Titans, How to Train Your Dragon, My Little Pony, DC Characters or any heavy references made toward Build a Bear. But I support each of these franchises and highly recommend them all :3 Though I own none. I'm not that good :p
I must apologize I am more comfortable portraying in the eyes of Raven and Beast Boy; but I have allowed myself to expand my zone for each of the titans in pieces of this story. So there will be scenes for the Princess and the Boy Wonder as well as the almost forgotten Cyborg (poor guy). So don't be too surprised to see this story drift in the Changelings or Sorcerous eyes of the world. :3 I can only barely control that. XD
With that all in mind, I introduce to you-my first Teen Titan's "love" story.
Chapter 1
"Ok today is the day." There was a heavy intake of breath and an exhale swiftly to follow.
"I've waited two months, six days and ten hours but now…now it is finally here."
A masked figure was standing in front of the closet mirror and at his side, a calendar hung on the wall, February 14 circled in red. The leader of the teen titans took in another breath, "ok, no big deal; it's just a normal day…a regular day…yeah."
Robin smiled and snatching up the communicator on his desk he clipped it to his belt and took one last look in the mirror before turning toward his door and striding out in the hall. It only took a few mere minutes before he reached the lobby and to his amusement and relief he smelled the lingering scent of breakfast. Opening the door he saw all his teammates up and going; he smiled-they must have all slept in as well, seeing how they had two midnight calls last night. Robin glanced at the clock that read 10:30am.
"Yo Rob come get some grub, you're the last up slow poke!" Cyborg called out, who stood in front of the stove.
Robin raised an eyebrow and started forward in the kitchen, "Me? You mean to tell me Beast Boy is awake?"
"Hey dude that hurts, you're cutting into my feelings man."
Robin looked toward the couch where the changeling sat eating toast and jelly, his teammate looked up at him with slight amusement.
"Would you like a band aid for that?"
Beast Boy smirked, "not with those cold hands; what do they say? Cold hands and a cold heart?"
Cyborg laughed heartily in the kitchen and Robin noticed Starfire standing next to his robotic teammate, grabbing a heaping of eggs herself at the moment. She looked up and exclaimed, "Beast Boy! Robin is not cold hearted!"
Raven who was on the other side of Starfire reaching up in the cabinet, smirked; "I believe the correct term would be cold hands and a warm heart."
Starfire smiled and agreed, "Yes, I agree with Raven; that is much better!"
"Psh, all you guys going against me-fine who needs friends anyway." Beast Boy turned away and everyone looked at one another before Raven gave a sly smile and cast her powers forward, flinging the blanket on the back of the couch over his head, startling the young teen titan.
"Hey! What the heck!?" Beast Boy shouted as he disappeared from view of the other titans.
The three titans in the kitchen laughed with Raven smirking, "Come now Beast Boy, who would we annoy if not you? You can't tell me you don't deserve it."
"Oh yeah" Cyborg agreed, "Like all the whining at losing video games."
"Or perhaps the awful movies you picked out and made us watch." Robin offered.
"And the bad, bad jokes you put us through." Starfire included as they watched Beast boy try to get the blanket off with him under it.
"We're just trying to say we love ya, in a weird way little dude." Cyborg ended, flipping the last sausage in the pan before shutting off the heat.
Beast Boy huffed, finally getting the blanket off of him, "Yeah I really feel it now."
"I think you'll get over it." Robin teased and Beast Boy only bit into his toast and mumbled, "Yeah, yeah..."
Robin turned back to the kitchen and passed by Raven who was going for the fridge. He watched Cyborg fill his plate then Starfire before he grabbed a plate himself, sitting down at the counter with the alien princess and Cyborg beside him.
"You know... you're all murderers!" Beast Boy exclaimed suddenly from the couch, getting looks from everyone. Raven closed the fridge during the sudden silence, breaking the quiet aura.
"And how are we all murderers exactly?" Robin asked after taking a bite of eggs.
"Yeah dude, please enlighten us." Cyborg added, putting a forkful of sausage in his mouth before swallowing it whole.
Beast Boy smirked, crossing his arms, "it doesn't matter who killed what; if you take part in eating an animal, then you are deciding whether others will eat it too. The consumer decides everything, why do you think fast food is so popular dude? They're all killers."
Each of the titans, including Raven all stopped for a moment to stare at their green teammate. Finally it was Cyborg who spoke up, "You know…I don't know what I was expecting…but that was honestly the last thing I thought would come out of your mouth… and to make matters worse, it made a lot of sense."
Starfire gasped and pushed away her food, "I do not wish to kill! I had sworn not to since leaving Tameran!"
Robin smirked, tearing off a piece of his toast, "point for Beast Boy today." He then turned to the distressed Starfire and began to explain what Beast Boy meant by the remark. Starfire stared at him, her eyes slowly getting more relaxed and her shoulders less tense as he continued speaking to her in a soft tone.
Cyborg frowned at Robins comment when Beast Boy piped up, "did ya have a sudden change in heart ole buddy ole pal?"
Cyborg looked down at his sausage and eggs then back at his best friend then took a large bite of eggs on his plate with a smile. "Nope. But the feels are real buddy."
Beast Boy sighed and fell back on the couch in exasperation. He could feel the couch move as Raven sat on the other end munching on a bagel with cream cheese, looking at the late morning news that flickered on the screen.
She glanced at him for a second, "How long did it take you to memorize that one?"
Beast Boy looked at her upside down and smirked, "I saw it on a tv show last week."
"Nice." Raven responded and brought her legs up in Indian style. Beast Boy yawned, still a little sleepy since he just woke up a half hour ago. He gazed at Raven in curiosity.
"Don't want to join in the sausage and egg fest over there?" He teased lightly.
Raven glanced at him noting the dirty joke that was intended but decided to not comment on it, "You know I was never a big carnivore myself Beast Boy, I don't mind it, but I don't eat it every day."
Beast Boy blinked but a flash of green and red suddenly shaded his vision as Robin strode into the living room, finishing his breakfast, "Titans, I have an announcement to make!"
Everyone glanced at him, Beast Boy still lay on the couch gazing at him sideways. Raven took another bite of her bagel while the other two glanced over from the kitchen.
"Today we're going to the mall."
Everyone had a different expression they bore. Beast Boy sat up on the couch with surprise, Raven stared at her leader as if he suddenly grew legs for ears. Cyborg just glanced over from the kitchen with leering eyes, while Starfire put down her cleaned plate and jumped up in excitement.
"The mall!?"
"The Mall..?"
"The mall…"
"The mall!"
The leader looked around at all the different expressions, "I know, I know, it's not exactly planned but I felt like toady was no better day than the rest! I have found a lead on a case connecting the recent thief's downtown and I am lead to expect them to strike the mall next. Seeing it's where as many stores are located, it is an ideal place to get yourself known as a criminal."
The others glanced at one another, and Robin continued, "We'll go ahead and venture out-Cyborg is the T-car ready to go?"
Cyborg swallowed the rest of his food and smiled, "Man, when is she not ready? I'll go fire her up right now."
The rest of the team watched as Cyborg dumped his dishes in the sink and raced out the door where the T-car was located. Robin smiled and looked at his remaining team.
"Ok, we all know where it's located so meet you there in a few."
Beast Boy, Raven and Starfire all glanced at one another as Robin exited the room. Starfire suddenly shouted, "Oh I am so excited!" Before dashing after their leader toward the t-car, leaving her plate on the counter, forgetting all about it. Beast Boy jumped off the couch and shrugged, "hey I never say no to a break from training and fighting."
Raven blinked, putting down her plate and replied, "I guess that's one way to look at it…" and followed her green teammate out the door to join the others.
Ok, so this story started out as a true 'one shot' but then as I continued to write it…the story grew to about 50+ pages on my word document. I considered writing it all and posting it as a huge one chapter story. But the more I thought of the idea, the more I despised it.
So I came up with a different plan, write the story and post it by chapters. So most of this is already done, I have the last bits to finish, but because it was supposed to already be one single chapter, this story is practically finished besides some minor details. So I will be posting up a few chapters today-so most will not have an intro and end comment from myself. :3
Also, I was just curious on the response I would get halfway through the story. So feel free to read, review and say anything you desire; your opinions strengthen me as a writer.
Oh and for those who are following my other stores, do not worry-I have them lined up. You're Not Alone is next to be updated as they go. I just have been getting a lot of crud from my professors lately, I had 3 exams this week and those stories have a lot of brain bumps in them and required inspiration. Unlike this story, which takes place in a single day-so not as intense :p
Peace, love n' happiness
