A/n: okay it's been a while since I Wrote anything. Sadly Life got in the way and many other thing happened to people and make them lose their touch, recently I've been playing pokémon start with pearl and soul silver a few years back and thought, You know I wrote a story about a Johto Trainer fighting for her freedom and I never finished the stories I was going to write for them… Then I read the Legend of the Moonlight Thief I wrote in high school 12 years ago… Yeah… I'm rewriting the Story. I wrote the story at the time when people adding OC creatures from different worlds were entering the pokémon world all I can think after reading it 10 years after finishing it was 'what was I smoking, and thinking' So I'm going to take down the original LoTMLT, After this Story is complete, and doing a better job of rewriting it. Enjoy. Also this story will only feature Kanto and Johto pokémon.

Disclaimers (Only saying this once!) I don't own Pokémon, Pokémon is a trademark of Gamefreaks and the Pokémon Company. The OC in this story are my. Thank you

Prologue: Don't look back

'Run'

That was all she was thinking.

'I need to get away,'

The young girl was running deeper in the forest, trying to keep her cool and felt the wind and branches cutting into her skin. Her gray shirt she was wearing was torn and covered in blood, as well as her pants she was wearing. Her feet were bare and cutting into the hard ground and sharp stones as small bloody footprints were following as she ran.

She was scared, she heard voices yelling for her to come back, saying she was with family. That was a lie, she was abused and tortured by Team Rocket, and she finally escape her prison. Howls and barks were now catching in the wind as she shivered in the December air. 'No, don't look back,' She scolded herself, 'keep running.'

The girl came to a cliff and whimpers as she comes to a stop, 'Now what?!'

"There you are," The girl quickly turn around, the ten year old's eye widen in fear, 'No, I need to do something!'

The rocket with two growlithes and houndours next to him and he smiles cruelly at her, "It's not safe here, come home with us, we're your only family."

The girl steps back and narrows her eyes, she was not going back, and she was going to be free.

She jumps, to the freezing river below.

The rocket watch in horror as the young girl takes her own life and curses to the sky, "Find her body!"

-1-1-1-

For two days, Team rocket grunts looked up and down the river where the young girl jump into thinking the shock from the freezing water would have killed her, but the scientist, admins, and the boss himself knew otherwise, she survived the water. She was designed to be the perfect Rocket with one defect, she had a will of her own.

"Anything?"

"Only Pokémon footprints from the river, Sir, No sign of Rocket Type X7."

The man threw the glass in his hand to side, shattering the glass and watched as his drink slide down the wall. "I want all of Team Rocket on high alert for X7!"

One of the grunts clears his throat, "WHAT!"

The grunt shook quickly knowing he was in danger, "Sir, no one could survived that fall… not even X7, if the shock didn't drown her, the freezing temperature of the water would have… ummm Sir."

A gunshot was heard and the grunt fell to the ground, dead. "Anyone else... want to voice their opinions about X7?"

"No, Sir."

"Good, now listen well, She was the first X to survive and been through plenty of freezing temperature tests, including water test below freezing. She is still alive, and she will appear again, she can't live on the outside yet. I don't care how long it takes, I want X7 brought back to headquarters alive!"

-1-1-1-

A lone Houndoom was slowly walking to the river and growling along the way. He's been wandering through the area looking for a trainer to help him continue his training, he was able to evolve, but only because he had to defend himself from a very nasty, ill-temper Ariados. Why does winter time bring out the nastiness in bug-types, he would like to know.

The snow was about four inches on the ground and the snowstorm didn't look like it was let up anytime soon. The Houndoom sighs as he finally made it to the river and starts to drink the cool and refreshing waters. He was licking the water from his muzzle and begin to walk the shore when he steps on something squishy and soft.

Houndoom looks down and saw he step on a human. He jumps back and growls. The human wasn't moving, and her lips were blue. The dark Pokémon relaxed and gently pokes the human with his paw, she wasn't moving. He whines slightly, the poor girl must have frozen to death. he decide to take the body somewhere where he could bury her, who knows Pokémon would come and think the poor human's body. As he grabs the human shirt, he hears a light moan, and the girl was still breathing.

The Houndoom's eyes widen and gently drops the girl back on the cold ground, and sniffs around her mouth and felt the warm breaths coming from her nose. He then lift her up and somehow puts her on his back, and run to the first place he could think of taking her.

-1-1-1-

At a Pokémon Center in Johto, Nurse Joy was about to close the Pokémon center due to the lack of trainers coming today. The snowstorm kept trainers in the towns about four hours walk from her center each way, and the worst of the storm isn't supposed to stop till later in the night.

A knock at the door catch her attention, when she saw a Houndoom and a young girl on his back. She opened the door quickly and allow the Houndoom to bring in the girl, but the girl herself wasn't moving, her skin had a tint of blue and though she froze to death if it wasn't for the fact that she was still breathing.

"Blissey, bring a stretcher, Fast!"

Blissey was rushing out and saw the young girl and gently lifted the girl on the cart with help from the Houndoom, Normally Nurse Joy didn't help human patients, but when a Trainer hurt themselves when travel she's do first aid, but this young girl looked like she went through the ringer a few times.

The cuts on her arms looked fresh and weren't Pokémon made and the poor child had bruises and scars all over her back and wrists.

"Houndoom, Is she your trainer?"

The Houndoom shook his head no, and looked to the river that flows close to the forest. She gasps and went into full medical mode slowly trying to bring her temperature. Throughout the night Houndoom laid on the girls bed keeping her warm with his body heat after Nurse joy asked him to while she kept checking her around the clock.

It was after midnight when the girls color was back to a natural color, and she breathing was regular as well as her pulse, if houndoom didn't find her, she would have died.

It was morning when the girl return to the land of the living, "Good morning, young lady!"

This startles the girl she was ready to bolt when a gently paws touched her shoulder as Houndoom gently barks to calm her down. She didn't look convinced, but nods lightly to the dark Pokémon as Nurse Joy completed her check over the girl, "I think two or three more days of bed rest and you'll be fine." The Girl just nods to Nurse Joy which she frowns at.

"You're lucky, Dear, If Houndoom here didn't find you, and you would have been dead."

The girl just kept looking at the blanket, Nurse Joy frowns at the lack of response from the girl, "Can you talk?"

The Girl just nods lightly at first, quickly shake her head violently, "I would like to check your throat and make sure you don't have any frostbite or damage to your larynx."

The girl was now visibly shaking, and shook her head. Houndoom lightly whines and with his nose gently push against her hand trying to calm the poor child. "Please, I only want to make sure you get better" Nurse Joy says as she put a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder.

The girl was still scared, but she decides to open her mouth and Nurse Joy moves back in shock with her hands to her mouth, the girl's tongue was force down to the floor of the mouth and sewed tightly down to the floor prevent her from talking. "Oh dear, what happen?"

The girl began to cry, a mumbled came across her lips but Joy couldn't understand, Houndoom begins to growl, now wanting to show who did this to the girl he saved why he was called the dark Pokémon and feared in Johto.

Nurse Joy asked the girl to hold still as she gently broke the stitches and the girl tongue was free to talk, blood was dribble from her mouth as Nurse joy put some gauze pads in the girl mouth, when the blood finally stop, she took the gauzes out of her mouth and hand the girl with a cup and told her to rinse and spit into the pan in front of her. When Nurse Joy checks her mouth again, but what shock her was the girl's wounds from the stitches were now healing quickly and her tongue was going back to normal like the tongue wasn't sew to her mouth.

"I'm not normal…" The girl said quietly, too ashamed of herself.

"What do you mean, dear?"

The girl sighed, "I'm not a normal girl. I was born in a lab by team Rocket. I've been a prisoner for as long as I can remember. I've been experimented on, tortured, and force to hurt others. I talked back to the boss of Team rocket three days ago and as you can tell he wasn't happy about voicing my opinion, so he ordered his doctor to sew up my tongue hoping the pain the not being able to talk back to my 'master' would break me. Up till yesterday, I was Rocket Type X7, not a little girl. I even took this poké ball to catch a Pokémon when I escape, but it doesn't feel like a normal empty poké ball I've held before and too scared to open it."

Nurse Joy smiles at the girl, "Well, you'll never know till open the poké ball."

The girl nods and holds the poke ball as it opens and releases the Pokémon inside. The brown fox like Pokémon shakes her head and blinks lightly. "Vee?" she mews lightly and looks around and see the young girl holding the poke ball. The eevee leaps into the girls arms and nuzzles her head into her chest. The girl stiffens at first, but quickly relaxes and gently pets the young Eevee.

"That's a good starter for a young Trainer, but I think you need a strong Pokémon for a starter." Nurse Joy states as the Houndoom nods and licks the girl's cheek. The Girl looks at the Houndoom, and nods. "Thank you, friend."

-1-1-1-

Three days, later the girl was fully healed and ready to move on. The girl was dress in a black shirt and blue jeans, her silver hair was pulled back into a ponytail and had a burlap choker around her neck. She was wearing a new pair of black hiking boots and began to put on her heavy winter jacket.

Nurse Joy was watching the girl getting ready to leave and was a bit upset. She grew to care for the girl as if she was her own daughter and very worried about her leaving, but she knew the young girl needed to get as far away from where Houndoom found her.

"You have everything?" Nurse Joy asks the girl.

"Yes, I wish I could repay you for your kindness, even after I told you I escaped from Team Rocket." The girl says with a slight sadness in her voice.

"Just be Safe is all I ask, and you'll have Houndoom and Eevee to protect you."

The girl nods and pats both poke balls that she had on her belt, Houndoom let her catch him yesterday and grew to be her guardian, where Eevee, whom she named Nightstar, helped her relax and keep her calm during Nurse Joy's tests to make sure she was okay.

Nurse Joy pulls the young girl into a hug and felt the girl stiffen for a bit before returning the hug. "If you head west there is a town called Moon's Gap, the Nurse Joy there is a good friend of my and will know you're coming. The journey is a month's journey from here, but I know you'll make it there, Silver."

The Girl steps away and looks at Nurse Joy, "Silver?"

"You need a name, and you can't go by X7 or girl. Also you look a young trainer I knew couple of years, same silver hair and blue eyes as you, but she died to Pneumonia here at this Pokémon Center"

The girl thinks for a bit and smiles, "I like that name, Nurse Joy, thank you again for everything."

Nurse Joy gave the young girl one last hug as the girl sling her backpack on and walks out of the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy smiles lightly and sighs, "I'm going to miss her, Blissey."

Blissey nods and pats Nurse Joy on the back, "I hope she makes it to Moon's Gap."

"Bliss ey ey, Blissey." The Happiness Pokémon says lightly

"You're right, Blissey, if Team Rocket couldn't break her, then She'll be fine."

A/n: I hope you like the Prologue into the Legend of the Moonlight Thief. I know this chapter didn't have much action but I promise there's going to be more. Sadly I'm only hoping that this is only going to be 9 to 10 chapters like the first Legend I wrote, I'm going to time skip the first two chapters and the chapter 3 will be main story.

Preview: Silver finally reaches to Moon's gap with some new Pokémon. As she looks for a place to stay, a rash of burglaries begins to plague the town, and the blame is pointing to Silver. Nurse Joy defends her, as well as an older group of trainers who arrived at the same time as Silver, Can Silver and the Trainers prove that she's not the 'thief' the town is looking for?
