I was going through my old stuff yesterday and found this poem I had written when I was younger. As soon as I read it, Brooke came to mind. I thought about what Brooke would feel like pre-show if
she had liked Nathan while he was dating Peyton and how she would feel with the pressure of her reputation to uphold. This is a total AU coming straight from my mind. A poem in Brooke's POV.
I see you in school,
Trying to act all suave and cool.
I see you and you look at me,
But do you really see me?
You see the clothes
You see the hair
You might even look into my eyes
But do you see what they disguise?
They hide the hurt
They hide the shame.
Of all the things I want,
But can't say.
I wonder what you truly see,
When you look at me?
Do you see the tough girl?
Ready to take on the world
Or do you see the scared, lonely girl?
Who sees you two together and tries her hardest not to hurl
A girl overflowing with passion and emotion
Ready to journey across an across an ocean.
