Inspired by the Wikipedia featured article of the day on John Millington Synge.
"So," Sarah Jane asked as they left the theatre, "in my reality Synge never wrote 'Deidre of the Sorrows?"
"Well, he started, but died before he completed it. His wife and W.B. Yeats finished it, but it's not quite the same."
"That's too bad. It was a good play. Sad, but good."
"Well, in one world he never had chance to, but in another he finished it with flourish. That's what I love about alternate realties, even if the doors were closed there's just something about them being there."
Thankfully some day he would forget he had ever said that.
