Vampire Knight: Zero and Yuki: Lost Love
Ch. 1
Yuki sighed, sitting in her room day in and day out all because of Kaname. She wasn't used to this. She wanted to be free. Free from all of this. From her room, from her newly found life and servants, and from her engagement to her own brother...
"Yuki?" Kaname knocked on her door, interrupting her thoughts. "You can come out now..." He sighed, lately she was avoiding him and it hurt him like it normally did. Yuki said nothing and sat there, leaving Kaname wanting. "I love you..." He frowned and walked away.
Yuki had begged for everything to go back to normal. She missed her friends, Yuri and... Zero... She couldn't stop thinking about him and what she had said. She had only said it to protect him and it almost broke her heart, again, just to think about it. He had said he would eventually hunt her down and kill her, but she didn't believe that... She knew he loved her and she herself started to fall in love with him. She had given up on it because of his hatred for vampires. There was no way he would stay in love with her knowing that she was a pure blood.
Kaname sat on the plush couch frowning. She had chosen to come with him yet she would sit in her room alone, day and night, only coming out once a week for her blood substitute. He missed her. It was like she was avoiding him... My dear Yuki, he thought, why is it like this? Why won't you talk to me my sweet sister... I love you and I miss seeing your smiling face every day... He sighed and ran a hand through his sleek brown hair. Come back to me...
Zero looked around. The air smelled like pine and blood. Not just any blood, Yuki's blood. He inhaled deeply and sighed. She was near. He had vowed to hunt her down and kill her someday. Today would be that day, but would he have the heart to kill the one he loved, truly loved. He had missed her and his heart ached at the thought of her. But she was a vampire now and he despised vampires. He choked back tears and pushed on through the woods. He had to.
Yuki stood and ran to the window, lifting it up. She inhaled and could smell pine, fresh air, pond water with moss and... "Zero!?" she yelled. She could smell him. What was he doing here? Was he looking for her? If so would he kill her or confess to her finally? What would he truly do? She didn't care, as long as she could see him one more time.
Kaname frowned. He smelled Zero as well and tried not to think about it. He loved Yuki and the thought of her leaving him was painful and he wouldn't give her up easily. He continued to sit there and sip on his blood substitute.
Yuki jumped out of the window and walked slowly, following Zero's scent. She smiled slightly at the familiar sweet smell. She stopped to lean against a tree and wait for him to find her. His scent kept getting stronger with each passing moment.
Zero was slowly closing in on Yuki and knew he would be seeing her at any moment. It put a slight smile on his face. It quickly vanished when he thought of what he had sworn to do... He almost turned around and ran away, but he couldn't. Even if he didn't kill her, he had to see her. Then, there she was. Leaning against a tree, just a beautiful as always.
Her eyes met his and she grinned, she took off running towards him and hugged him tightly, "Zero!" She called, "I missed you so much!" tears started to fill her eyes as she held him.
He stood there for a moment before wrapping one arm around her waist and one hand holding the back of her head. In this moment it didn't matter. Nothing did. She missed him and he missed her. Right then and there he knew, he could never kill her.
