The Tournament of Champions

Rated: M for Character Death, Gore, Children in Adult situations and Racism/Biggotry.

AU. Voldemort won the war the first time around. As a generational reminder, the descendants of those that were not Death Eaters are placed into a deadly lottery. A mockery of the Triwizard Tournament, just as the Wizarding World is a mockery of what was, the competition has seven students added to the game per year.

The are forced to be celebrities, given feigned encouragement and invited to prestigous parties, to humiliate the families of those that were not Death Eaters even more. The system is corrupt-but what can you expect from a corrupt leader? In Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts, he takes the place of his best friend, Hermione Granger, due to what she deems his "saving people" thing. It seems Harry Potter is doomed to be the Boy-Who-Lived no matter what world he grows up it.

Inspired by The Hunger Games.

The Decree

.

The descendants of those that did not facilitate his Lordship's rise to power will have their name entered into the Goblet of Fire once a year for seven years, between the ages of eleven and seventeen.

The descendants of those belonging to a group called The Order Of The Pheonix will have their names entered twice.

Halfblood students will have their names entered twice.

Mudblood students will have their names entered three times.

Seven students will be selected at random to participate every year just after Orientation, Sorting and Classification.

Once a student's name is called from Goblet, they must participate in the three deadly tasks, not only that year, but each year that follows until they graduate from school or are eliminated from the competition.

The only way to be eliminated from the competition is to die.

This annual event will forever be known as the Tournament of Champions.
