'Nevermore!' The raven squaked as it flew down upon the lone nation as he walked, nay marched as was his usual pace, to the home of his sometimes lover(and sometimes foe).

"Verdammt Vogel" Ludwig cursed as he, without a single wasted move and with seeming effortlessly grace, withdrew his officer's pistol and aimed at the pestering raven and subsequently shot once with a soft 'bang!' that echoed throughout the woods surrounding him.

Ignoring the now dead raven as he continued his trek to the manor now coming into view from behind the crest of a small hill, yet another raven appeared within view. This one, perched on a thick black tree branch squared the same eery word as the first 'Nevermore!'

"I don't have time for this!" The further annoyed German yelled to himself as he picked up his gait and took off at a light jog towards the manor in hopes of leaving the raven behind in the woods.

The raven however had other plans, for it squaked but only once in the 'normal' bird language it should've from the beginning and with that one squak, one raven became two. And then two ravens became 4 and so on until nearly one hundred of the ominous birds perched above the now sprinting man who suddenly senses the danger he's in.

'Nevermore!' They squaked in unison as he burst from the woods and furiously knocked on the door to the manor while taking cautious looks behind him to make sure he wasn't followed by the birds.

Ever so slowly as the feeling of danger subsided, Ludwig slowly and steadily took deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself and ran a hand through his slightly unkempt hair. "What was I afraid of? They're just birds..." he says quietly to himself as the door then opens revealing the amethyst orbs and chocolate locks he so desired to see once more.

"Ludwig!" Marianne exclaimed as surprise becomes clearly evident with the raising of ever so delicate eyebrows and the widening of almond eyes. Lunging forward after her momentary shock and wrapping her arms around the German in a tight embrace and burying her face into his chest, she couldn't help the small sob that escaped her mouth as the tears begin to freely pour from her eyes.

"We can't keep this...affair going anymore Ludwig... our leaders are too opposed and-" She begins and is cut off with a sad glance from the man in her embrace.

"So you're using that excuse... I can clearly see it isn't me you desire anymore Marianne..." he slowly begins and tilts her face upwards and looks her in the eye. "From what I can tell it seems as if the Englishman has stolen your heart once again, am I not right?" He questions her.

"..." She pauses for a long while. "I'm sorry Allemagne...I still love you but Arthur..." She starts as her lower lip quivers and She squeezes Germany tighter and closer to herself.

"I understand Mari..." he says softly as he pries himself from her grip and turns around and faces the woods and path back to his own home. "I completely understand." Ludwig says somewhat louder as he stars back onto the path as Marianne watches on.

Slowly and surely walking away, Ludwig can feel her gaze boring into his back but can't help but feel She isn't the only one watching him and brings his head up to scan the tree branches and discovers a horrifying scene.

Every branch of every tree, all filled with ravens who's beaks open and only one thing comes from out of them.

'Nevermore!'
