I own nothing but my own Ideas
The image looks harmless enough. A little brunette walking through the woods. She is the usual age for a new trainer, probably no older then fourteen. It isn't until she is challenged, that Yasu knows she is not an easy win for lunch money. She is too quiet, too composed. No surprise shows on her face when he comes out of his tree disguise. It is blank, almost sculpted. Bored too, like nothing interests her.
She stares at him with the same look on her face. Then she sends out a Pokémon. It is not a Pokémon that Yasu has ever seen or heard of. Then again, he is no expert on the beings that inhabit this world. Yasu lives in a forest, there is not much variety here.
He does not think he will learn its name anytime soon either. "Sam" appears to be a personaly given name, rather then a species name. She does not say anything, and in one fiery strike, Yasu's Ninjask is unconscious.
She stares at him, unblinking, until he hands over her win. Then, calmly, she turns and continues her journy, as if Yasu were nothing more then a log she had steped over. A minor obstalce for experience.
He exhales in relif, as she goes away. The world regains colour, and he can breath easily again. He shivers, getting rid of the last of the cold she had brought with her. The chill.
He was luckey she hadn't stayed or asked for more.
The Poké dex at her side explains everything. When a Ninjask levels up, one should relece the the counterpart that comes with it. Shedinja. She had not releced it. She might have even trained it. Shedinja is a powerful Pokémon, but one must posses strong restraint to train it.
She was one who had looked into the hole in Shedinja's back.
In Ruby the Poké dex entrey says Shedinja steals the soul of someone pearing into the hole in its back . I decided to explore that with Yasu the NPC.
Yasu is a real game character.
