Hi everyone. You guys may recognize my style of writing, because I also go under MissLKid, but I feel the need to have a clean writing slate. Enjoy. (and of course, my disclaimer is I do not own anything from the outsiders. But what else is new?)

This story is in third person all the way through.

The sounds of Darry cooking dinner were barely noticeable to Pony as he moped around the living room. It had been a couple months since Johnny and Dally died, and Pony again was feeling the weight of loneliness. Steve was out with Evie as usual, and Soda was helping Darry in the kitchen. Two-bit was who knows where, probably at Buck's getting drunk.

Pony was about to sit down on the sofa when he started thinking a conversation he would have with Johnny. He walked hurriedly into his and Soda's room, and opened a drawer to his desk. He dug through the drawer until he found an notebook that had his most recent writing in it, and a pencil. Writing was what he spend most of his time doing. It seemed to busy his mind and satisfy some of the emptiness inside of him. When he turned in his English paper, he received an almost overwhelming amount of praise from his teacher about the quality of his writing, and suggestion to send it to a publisher. The idea was mind-boggling to Pony, and he had yet to tell anyone in the gang about the idea. He was unsure about sending it in, but he had done tons of editing to his essay anyway. The notebook he found was filled mostly with letters and stories of the past.

Pony walked back to the living room and sat down with the notebook and pencil. He opened to a fresh page, and titled it: Letter to Johnny and Dally.

This would be another letter that he would send to Johnny and Dally if they were alive. He wrote:

Hey Johnny. Hey Dally. We miss you guys a lot. I'm sorry I haven't written to you guys in a while; it's finals week, so Darry has been pushing me to study hard all week, and that has kept me busy. Now its summer and I will write more. I promise. You will never believe it, Two-bit passed junior year! Next year he is going to be a senior! I think the principal is as shocked as any of us. Two-bit has actually been working on school this month, it is kind of scary. Steve and Soda are, as always, doing great with the DX. They both got a raise, which made Darry happy. Darry's still working two jobs, but he and I are getting along. Soda, Darry and I are going to go camping later this summer, like we used to with Mom and Dad. Darry and Soda are going to take some time off for it. This is going to be a good summer. I miss you guys,

Pony.

The smell of chicken was starting to fill the house, so Pony shut the notebook, laid the notebook on the table, and stood up so he could see when dinner was going to be ready. Suddenly he heard a soft thud when he stood up, it came from the couch. Cautiously, Pony lifted the cushion and saw under the sofa through a crack was a leather covered notebook lying on the ground. It must have fallen through the cracks of the cushions, Pony thought slowly as he replaced the cushion. He got on his knees and reached under the couch, pulled out the notebook, and stood up. He looked at the cover, where there was a name written.

Pony dropped the book and then called out in a strained tone "Soda! Soda, come here!"

At the sound of Pony's voice, Sodapop walked into the living room and over to Pony. Pony had gone pale. "Pony, what's wrong?" He asked, slinging an arm around his brother's shoulders.

Pony pointed to the name on the notebook lying on the ground. Soda read it out loud softly. "Jonathan Cade"
