Chapter 1

The dusty tunnel echoed as Mew Purin's shoes rapidly clacked against the rocky floor. Her little heart beat heavily in her chest and faint little coughs escaped her lips.

"You'll never escape me, monkey girl!"

Purin groaned. She was completely and utterly defenseless against the aliens now. Her Pudding Ring was nowhere to be found and she was completely exhausted. She could feel the power being drained from her small body, not knowing how much longer she could keep this up. Running aimlessly through a subway wasn't helping.

"Friends… (huff)… aren't supposed… (huff)… to hurt friends, na no da!" she cried as loud as she could.

The young alien scoffed. "I told you I'm not your friend, monkey brain!"

A giant Chimera Anime shot up from behind Purin, making her stumble forward and land face first into the dirt. Taruto laughed and floated over to her motionless form.

"Aw, c'mon, monkey. Do you give up already?" he asked, grabbing at her furry tail and ears. A muffled response came from the young Mew, as she tried lifting her head.

"Taru-Taru…"

"I told you not to call me that!" he yelled, pulling her hair.

Purin let out a squeal of pain, turning over to face the alien. "Stop it, Taru-Taru! You're hurting me, na no da!"

Taruto continued to pull her hair and ears, now sitting on her lower stomach to keep her from moving. "That's the whole point! Now cry, monkey!"

"No!" Purin grabbed his long ears, pulling as hard as she could. "We're friends, Taru-Taru, and friends shouldn't fight!"

Taruto let out a frustrated growl and threw his hands up in the air, making Purin jump. "WE ARE NOT FRIENDS!!!"

"Why not?" Purin asked, her eyes glazing over.

"Why? WHY?!" Taruto screamed. "I'll tell you why!"

Purin felt her body stiffen. She let out a small gasp, her eyes widening.

Taruto took a deep breath. "I…"

She felt the little mark on her head pulse.

"…HATE …"

Her ears and tail started to pulse as well. She felt scared, unable to hold in her power in anymore.

"YOU!"

A blinding flash emitted from Purin's forehead. It slowly engulfed her body, flashing a bright yellow. Taruto shrieked and shielded his eyes. "P-Purin!?"

When the light died down, Purin was in her normal café uniform and her ears and tail were gone. Taruto looked down at her, shocked for a minute before he realized that she was no longer in Mew Mew form.

"Okay, monkey girl, what's the big idea? Why did you change back?" Purin just lay there with her eyes closed, not giving any form of response. Taruto lightly shook her. "Monkey girl! Wake up now!" he yelled loudly in her ear. No response. "Monkey girl?"

Worry started to course through the alien. "Monkey girl…" he grasped her shoulders and shook her hard. "Monkey girl! Wake up! Wake up now! Hey, c'mon… wake up…"

He looked down at her lifeless form, eyes shaking and threatening to release tears.

"PURIN!"
