'Do you think he is okay?'
'I dunno. Not many people survive a bullet to the brain, Star.'
'Oh shut it X, can't you see she's worked up enough as it is? Besides, he's on the best technology!'
'And I healed the wound!'
'Guys! Stop arguing please! I can't hear the show!'
I smiled to myself. The Titans arguing over my well being was funny. But wait… X? Red X? What in the blazes is he doing here?
I opened my eyes, and instantly wished I hadn't. Everyone except X started fussing over me and were all talking at once.
'Guys! Guys! GUYS!'
'Yes?'
'I'm fine, honestly. But, what's X doing here?'
'Oh…' all the Titans looked over at X and he seemed to go red under his mask. Seemed like it anyway. Ha. Humour. For me, anyway.
So, there's X going red in the face, me lying in a bed, and the others looking at X.
'I rescued you man!' he finally said.
Yeah. Right. Him? Rescuing me? Fat chance.
'Really?'
'Yeah,' said Cyborg. 'He did. Removed the bullet and everything. 'Twas amazing!'
I didn't believe him, well I did… in a way. But what made X help me? I weren't gonna ask though, I wanted to go and check my mobile. Swiftly, I jumped and ran from the hospital room, straight to my own.
I know I may have got a bit friendly with Star before, but now that's over. I've got Lynx. Yeah. A girl. My girl. Star was just a fling, everyone has them, but Lynx… she was different. She was… wow. That's all I can say!
Looking at my phone I noticed I have 28 missed calls and 30 messages from her. She must've thought I was dead! Well I suppose I could have been…
Each text was asking if she'd done something wrong because I wasn't answering and so on, so I replied and said sorry but I was in a little incident, but I'm okay now, and when is she going to come and join the team.
The reply came almost instantly, reading;
Heyah baybeeh, for yew wer ded! Lol… I duno wen am gna cum on the teem… wt bowt tht Starfire gurl yew tld meh bowt? Wnt she gt in th way? Anywayz luffyhoo xx tb xx
Quickly, I replied and said she won't bother us at all, and she said I better be ready for a shock then. What in hell did that have to do with her joining the team? Gawd knows…
Well, that was me coming back, anyway. I suppose I better get on with what happened in the next week…
