Edward leaves Bella in New Moon. Bella moves to Chicago. Ends up living next door to the Masen's old home. Edward Sr. & Elizabeth Masen were actually changed and they stay in the house and ward off buyers by pretending to be ghosts. Bella goes exploring one day. The Masens start to cause a ruckus, but stop when Bella recognizes a painting of Edward.
I believe later in the story Bella and the Masens are reunited with the Cullens.
