Author's Note: This is just a one shot about what actually happens when you fall into Middle Earth…as in fall out of the sky. This will be written in the style of Aesop's Fables. Meaning there will be a story, and then a moral at the end.
Disclaimers: The characters and places featured, with the exception of Tara Avril Amy Lothelwayleth, all belong to Tolkien.
I'm not certain who "Aesop's Fables" belongs to, since the origins of some of his stories is disputable. I'm just not taking credit for it.
The Girl Who Fell from the Sky
In a small town somewhere on the eastern coast of the United States lived a girl. She was very, very, very, very beautiful. She was also very troubled.
"Woe is me," she would say all day long. In fact, it was all she would say, if she weren't singing one of her favorite sad songs.
"Why Tara Avril Amy Lothelwayleth," her mother finally said, "what is the matter my blindingly beautiful dear?"
"Oh mother of mine," she said, "if only I could go away, flee this terrible life of homework, and chores, and middle class suburbs. I would give anything if I can be taken away to a magical land where I would be made a princess and live happily ever after."
"Darling, every girl your age has homework and responsibilities. It's apart of life."
The mother patted Tara Avril Amy Lothelwayleth on the head and walked away. Tara, sulking beautifully, said, "I bet they don't have problems in Middle Earth."
She lay across her soft, silky bed, yawning. "I wish I could go there. I wish I could fall into Middle Earth; like that girl fell into Wonderland…or was that Oz? Oh, who cares." Tara Avril Amy Lothelwayleth kissed each Lord of the Rings book she kept by her bed and rolled over.
Before she could go to sleep, something strange happened. Her bed began to shake violently tossing her from side to side. She was finally thrown off. After pushing her brilliantly blonde hair away from her fearful (but lovely) face, she was amazed to find a gaping, glowing hole in her bed. She walked over to it slowly.
"My goodness," she said with a gasp. The hole was actually a gateway of some kind. She could see clouds and the green trees and grass beneath them.
"My wish, it came true!"
Without hesitating, Tara, leaped feet first into the hole.
She after a moment, she realized that it was further to the ground than she thought. Much further. Unfortunately, it was too late. If she hadn't acted so quickly, she wouldn't be falling to her death.
Moral: Respect Middle Earth's gravity and it will respect your original insert.
