Primum non Nocere

ONE-SHOT. At the request of Martha, the Doctor makes a stop to see a piece of history that's meaningful to her and he reflects on the person they meet. (This short story aims to bring out some of the Doctor's inner conflict between his pacifist nature and violent events he has participated in.)

Primum Non Nocere

"Of course, this would the one place, the one Person, Martha would want to visit. One of the few places I did not want to go," the Doctor thought. "I suppose I can't blame her. The memory of this one man inspired countless men and women throughout all of time; including her."

The Doctor chuckled softly to himself and mused to himself, "Once, he even inspired me. But that was a long time ago… while I was still young. Still Naïve. Before I could be called 'Bringer of Darkness' or 'the Oncoming Storm.'" No, now this historical was nothing more than the reminders of the 'could've been' and maybe 'should've been.'

So he slipped deeper into thoughts and memories of the Daleks and Cybermen, the Time War, and the destruction that seem to follow him, while he and his companion stood watching a man whose visions and teachings would continue to shape history, the modern world, and the future, the Father of Modern Medicine, Hippocrates as he charged his students,

"Primum non nocere."

"First do no harm."
