*You and Me*
20 years later...
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Harper. That would be me, sort of. I'll explain more about that later. I was raised in a cottage in the woods by my adoptive father. According to him, he rescued me from parents in Auradon City who abandoned me, but I never completely bought that story. You see, we had a small television, but my dad would never let me watch it, not that we had a good signal anyways because we had an antenna, and we were in the middle of the woods, but back to the story. However, when dad went out on one of his business trips, which was quite often, I would turn the television on and watched it. There was all of these shows that contain excitement and adventure, that just made me wish I could go there. Sometimes I even watched the news. I just didn't see how people who seemed so kind and who's queen used to be a villain until she turned good, could be that bad. Alright, enough with my backstory. It's about time you learned about how I returned home.
It all started one day after I came home from collecting berries in the woods. Dad was watching the news when I walked in.
"Dad, I'm home," I said.
My dad shut the TV off and walked over to me. "Good. Now why don't you make some pie for desert. I have to go on a business trip tomorrow."
"But you just got back from one a week ago."
"I know, but something came up."
"Can't I just at least come with you?"
"Harper, the outside world is too dangerous for you. Don't you ever wonder why I wear a cloak when I go out on these kinds of trips. And look at you."
*Mother Knows Best* (Except in this case I suppose it would be Father Knows Best)
"Now, why don't you go make pie?"
"Yes father." I wasn't surprised. He usually went by himself anyways and sometimes would take my pies to sell, and he also wore a cloak so nobody could see his face, but I'm sixteen years old. I can take care of myself. I've proven that for eight years of him constant bussniess trips. I just wanted to go out there and maybe find out why my parents abandoned me.
*Belle (reprise) Lines 7 - 12*
I just couldn't understand why he won't let me grow up.
