Her eyes flickered open slowly and she looked around, adjusting to the rays of the sun falling directly on her face. Absentmindedly, the redhead stifled a yawn and sat up, swinging her legs to the side of the bed as she slid on her slippers. "Morning." A faint familiar voice echoed through her ears and she looked at her lover, a faint smile pushing through the edges of her lips. "Morning, Barton. Get your ass off the bed, would ya?" She smirked and she leaned over, gently placing a soft kiss on his lips. "I hate going to work." He groaned slightly, rolled his eyes and pushed himself off the bed, as he walked around the room, looking for his clothes. A few minutes later, Natasha found herself walking down the familiar corridors, making her way through the newest recruits, some of them acknowledging the Black Widow's presence with their good mornings.

Tony was pacing up and down the large and spacious room. Bruce and Thor were sitting patiently, well not so patiently, as they were pen fighting with each other, Bruce chuckling slightly as he mumbled, "Oh, how the mighty have fallen, from the hammer to the pen." Steve grimaced slightly as he pulled out a chair and positioned himself into it, smirking innocently, "A pen is mightier than a sword, my apologies, a hammer. " "You're awfully quiet today, Tony. Did Pepper not let you get your beauty sleep last night?" Natasha and Clint walked in as Tony rolled his eyes sarcastically at the Red head. "We've a mission." He muttered dryly and walked over to the rest of the team. "A highly classified Op.." He glanced a look at the Captain. "No time for your puns now, Red."

So it was sorted. They had been assigned a mission and they had been assigned their respective partners. Clint had been disappointed and grumpy as he walked out with the Iron Man, leaving the Black Widow, the Captain and the rest of the Avengers alone. Natasha would be Steve's right hand while Thor and the Big Guy Bruce would be partners. They were to leave in an hour.

Steve's Floor

He sighed slightly as he watched himself in the mirror. The thing he dreaded the most, it was happening. And the worst thing was that Steve had himself brought this fate upon himself unknowingly. He would be going on a mission with the woman whom he had been avoiding for a couple of days. Natasha and Steve had decided to be friends, but there was something about those green eyes and the beautiful red locks that had captivated him. When he wasn't working, he was thinking about her, although he knew he wasn't allowed to. Clint and Natasha were in love, and it was wrong to even think of her friend in this romantic way. "Be a man, Steve Rogers." He rolled his blue eyes as he ran his hand through his blond hair, failing to notice the silhouette of a woman on his door. "You ready, Cap?" She sighed slightly as she walked in, biting her lower lip unknowingly. She was dressed in black, her knee length boots perfectly polished and glistening, her short red hair flowing into her eyes. Oh, how his heart pounded. This wasn't the first time he had felt like this for someone, the last one being Peggy Carter. He nodded slightly and passed her a weak smile as he found his thoughts trailing back to Peggy. What is it with me and dark haired women? He thought to himself as they walked out together.
