"This story happened to my grandpappy when he was my age. He has dementia so somethings he says can't be worth a grain of salt, but more than one other family member has confirmed this one is true." Timmy said before starting

-Dead or Alive-

"Many years ago when the practice of embalming was still being perfected and was not widely accepted by many, my grandpappy's great aunt came down with a severe case of Scarlet Fever and TB. Back then, it was considered a death sentence since there was no real treatment for it. After awhile, the decision was made to put her in a hospital, Waverly Hills I believe it was called. The doctors had to remove 4 of her ribs in her right side so they could drain her lungs of built up fluid to help her breath better, but the Scarlet Fever made them give her a week to live. A few days later, her fever and rash went away but they still gave her a few days to live. After the week was up, things were looking bright, she had started moving around on her own and was able to eat regularly, they thought she was going to make it. However, a few days later she took a turn for the worse, becoming bedridden. She remained in this state for about a month before she passed in her sleep. The family was heart broken, so they decided to have a sitting up then embalm her before burying her. They made all the proper arrangements and picked up the body in her coffin and carried it to her house where the sitting up was taking place. They made it a wonderful gathering, eating, drinking, telling stories and having fun remembering the aunt. Finally, they all gathered in the grand living room to pay their last respects when suddenly the aunt sat up in her coffin and asked "What in the world is going in here? I aint dead yet!" Within moments, everyone cleared the house in pure fright. As it turns out, the doctors made a mistake, she had simply slipped into a dead coma that made it seem like she was dead. About 2 weeks later, however, she actually DID die. I really hope that was the case anyway since they quickly embalmed and buried her the day after she "died" for a second time, they were going to take no chances. The End."

Wanda looked a little pale, "So sport, you mean..."

"Yeah," Timmy said, "there is a chance she was embalmed alive, but we will never know."

"Now that is dark," the next camper said, "but it is my turn."
