Presence

A/N: So... there are lots of fics on Gracia's POV of Hughes death, but none on Roy's office. That means I'm making one. Also, characters might be a little OOC.

Roy Mustang's office were exhausted, they'd just had a long journey from East City to Central and, quite honestly, were not prepared to walk the long way around Central Park, so, with Falman carrying a sleeping Fuery on his back, they entered Central Park.

As they walked closer and closer to the phone booth that Hughes had called so many people in, Roy smiled, expecting to see Hughes in that phone booth again. Instead the sight that greeted him would haunt his dreams for the rest of his life. Maes Hughes, family man, and the person who gave him the will to live was dead. Roy tried to run forward, being restrained by Riza and Havoc.

"LET ME GO, BOTH OF YOU, LET ME HELP HIM!" Roy cried from the strong, yet comforting arms of his subordinates.

Riza looked down "Colonel, you're not thinking straight, he's gone, there's nothing we can do but call the police."

Fuery's eyes began to open, "Where are we, why is the colonel shouting?"

Breda saw this and whispered something to Falman, Falman nodded and walked away with Fuery.

Later, after the police had taken Hughes body for examination, Breda, Roy, Riza and Havoc returned to the office in central, Riza trying to calm Roy down the whole time.

Once they were there, Fuery spoke immediately. "Colonel, sir, you're back, what the heck happened?"

Roy quickly made his leave, slamming the door behind him. Riza looked at the door and Fuery, before deciding that she should stay with Roy. Breda had already gone home, leaving just Havoc, who clenched and unclenched his fists before speaking up.

"Lieutenant-Colonel Hughes was promoted..." This just made Fuery even more confused.

"To what rank?"

'Havoc looked down, "He's a commodore now." He said before departing.

Riza looked down, swiftly moving through the corridors of Central, she knew where Roy would be, and she was right, he was there in the park by the phone booth, shivering.

"Colonel?"

He looked up.

"Colonel, you're cold." Riza stated

"No I'm not." Roy argued in a shaky voice.

"You are sir, you're shivering."

Roy bit his lip and allowed her to help him up.

"It's okay sir." Riza said to him

"W-What's okay?"

"I won't tell anyone if you want to cry."

Roy looked down, feeling weak because of the warm tears that fell to the ground. The storm was coming.

Riza looked at him before she too felt a lump in her throat and pulled him into a hug.

"Come on sir, let's go home." Riza said in slightly strangled tones.

Roy just nodded, the rain holding his voice back.

A.N: I know its short and the ending sucks, but please don't kill me.
