"I'm so glad to be back home." Sora said as the walked on the beach of Destiny Islands. All his friends were there too.
"Hey, Sora." Riku said. "Want another race? I remember the day we raced to determine the name of our raft. This time I'll beat you!"
"Okay, let's head over. But I'm gonna beat you again!" Sora said.
"Oh really?" Riku said, and they started running to their 'racing place'.
"Again? Okay, as always, you can take any route you want and the first one to touch the papou tree and come back wins! Ready, go!" Kairi said. The friends started running, across the planks, up the ramp, and across the bushes. Sora had touched it and started off across the trees first. Riku followed behind him, trying the best to go as fast as he could.
"Slowpoke!" Sora shouted as he looked behind him at Riku and made a face. Riku scowled.
"I will beat you!" Riku said. As they ran across the wood planks again, Sora faking falling off and glided to the starting point. He got there a centimeter before Riku. Sora grinned.
"I can teach you, if you want." Sora said.
"I'll teach myself." Riku said.
"C'mon guys, don't fight. Races are just for fun." Kairi said. Riku walked away. Once he had left, Kairi said, "Oh well."
"Don't worry, he's been like that ever since I beat him at Hollow Bastion. I'm surprised I was even able to convince him to come back here with us." Sora said.
"Sora, wanna go spar?" Leon asked. He was walked over to them while they were talking.
"Sure. And Yuffie can join too if she wants to. I like challenges!" Sora said. The three gathered on the beach and Leon said,
"But watch out, Yuffie and I have been training lately." Leon said.
"Don't worry." Sora said. Then they walked to the separate sides of the beach and pulled their weapons out. "Go!" Sora shouted and they started running towards each other. They sparred for a while, and in the end, Sora won.
"I guess you're still better than us. And after all, you are the keyblade master." Leon said as he got up. Sora looked at his new Ultima Weapon that the moogles just made for him. Just then Donald and Goofy fell on Sora. Sora got up and looked behind him.
"Ansem? You're still here? And Sephiroth?" Sora said, amazed.
"We teamed up. And if it wasn't for Sephiroth, I would still be dead right now." Ansem said.
"I studied his report and the heartless until I learned how to give a heart to someone. I took that old puppet, Pinocchio's heart, and put it in Ansem." Sephiroth said.
"Not Pinocchio!" Sora said. He looked into the window of Geppetto's house and saw him crouching on the floor looking at the lifeless puppet. "You had better give his heart back!"
"And why should I?" Sephiroth said.
"If you won't, then I'll defeat both of you and take his heart back by force. After all, Pinocchio's heart is rightfully his!" Sora said. He pulled his keyblade out.
"Then let's fight, but I doubt you'll win." Sephiroth said, and they both let out an evil laugh.
