He slammed his hands on to the glass, making the red head flinch. "I won't kill Barton. Not until I have him kill you! Slowly. Intimately. In every way he knows you fear! And when he'll wake just long enough to see his good work, and when he screams, I'll split his skull! This is my bargain you mewling quim!"

She stared at him in horror before turning around, hugging herself as tears formed in her eyes. "You're a monster," her voice quivered.

The Asgardian laughed. "No, you brought the monster."

The tears disappeared and a neutral look took place on her face once she turned around. "So, Banner. That's your play."

He gave a look of confusion. "What?"

Pressing her finger to her earpiece and walking away, she said, "Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab, I'm on my way. Send Thor as well." She turned back to Loki. "Thank you for your cooperation," she said before leaving.

As she walked through the halls, her heart beat faster and her hands clenched into fists. She should have seen it coming, should have kept the distance. But no, she always had to pretend to be brave and go up against something she didn't even have much knowledge of. No wonder he always kept a close eye on her.

At the thought of him, she grimaced but kept her confident stride. The words of the Asgardian echoed in her head.

"Slowly."

She imagined not an arrow in her chest, but a knife. Her knife.

"Intimately."

His mouth skimmed her neck as he intertwined his fingers with hers. The whisper of her name made her heart flutter, even when he thrust her own possession into her abdomen.

"In every way he knows you fear."

Her eyes widened and she gasped for air as one of his hands wrapped around her throat. Her hands were tied to the headboard and she was as naked as him. She was vulnerable. He pulled himself and the blade out before plunging back in. Again and again and again.

"He'll wake just long enough to see his good work."

He let go with wide eyes, his gray-blue eyes. She smiled as her eyelids became heavy. "Tash…" his voice broke. She wanted so much to reach and stroke his cheek or to wipe away those tears. He was crying. Hawkeye cries as much as Black Widow. They hate crying.

She shook her head a bit to clear her mind. The bad thoughts were beginning to fill it.

She made a turn and pit stopped at an empty hallway. To make the vision go away, she dug her fingers into her arm and bit her lip. The chant "go away, go away" sounded in her head. This is what Loki wanted; he's just messing with me.

It was her fault completely. She had been so stupid. Why did she think that they were invincible? She was stupid enough to trust Clint. Yes, they were partners but that didn't mean he had the right to know everything about her.

Tears had spilled onto her cheek by now; the nails in her arm had broken skin. Clint knew too much about her and he had been compromised.

That meant she was compromised too.

Wiping away her tears and blood, she set on a determined face. She was going to save him. No matter what.

She just had to think of a plan first.

Her breathing evened out and she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out eye drops. Hoping to hide the red her crying left behind, she put two drops into both eyes before shoving the dropper back into pocket. She rubbed her face, hoping the tear stains wouldn't be visible before continuing back to the lab.

She was going to play nice with the big boys, only because him. How ridiculous… she thought as she held her head up and caused several of the rookies to avert their eyes.

Clint was priority.

Is this love, Agent Romanoff?

Her footsteps echoed through the halls, Clint's smile at the back of her mind.

Love is for children.
