Cypher had been working for hours on the gun that would free Malpense. He'd thought it would only take an hour, but he was still sitting at one of the Science and Technology Department's workbenches at almost midnight. Finally, he'd finished.
"Alright, I'm done. I need the medallions," he told the Professor.
The Professor nodded at the guard, who said something into his Blackbox. The guard turned to the two men.
"Chief Lewis is on his way."
Shelby took her Blackbox out of her backpack and set it on her nightstand. She worried about what had become of Wing, and hoped that wherever he was, he was well on the way to finding Otto. She found Wing's PDA in her bag and put that on the nightstand, too.
Security Chief Lewis made his way down the halls of Accommodation Block Seven's residential area. He stopped outside room 7-118 and placed his palm on the scanner, opening the door. As he stepped in, he realized that no one was inside. He looked around for a moment and pulled out his Blackbox.
"HIVEmind, Student Fanchu is not in his room. Could you tell me where he is?"
HIVEmind looked puzzled for an instant before replying.
"Fanchu is in Student Trinity's room..."
