Author's Note: This little song fic is about Tifa... I feel pretty sorry for in here. And by the way, I know many of you people out there probably do not like Britney Spears in any way, I don't really myself...but I have to admit that this song "Heart" is pretty good, whether it is by her or not. For Britney fans out there that haven't heard this song, you should check it out. It's really nice.

Tifa recalled the way Cloud rejected her whenever Aeris was there. She recalled the way he had looked at Aeris, the same look he had given to her years and years ago. But that was all gone. All the things they had shared together were now just memories. Memories that would one day be forgotten.

Of course it was love. She was pretty sure of that. They had been together for so long...could he really be that blind? Tifa thought back on the night of their stay at the Gold Saucer. She had gone to check up on Cloud, to ask him if he'd like to look around with her. But she was too late. Aeris had made it there first.

Sometimes she felt like she couldn't go on with this journey. Just the sight of them together brought tears to her eyes. She had vowed to herself when she was young, that she would never, ever cry over a guy. She had vowed that she'd be strong, not like those girls that cry themselves to sleep. But it's really not that easy.

Listen to your heart. That's what Tifa had been told to do. So...she did.

She listened to her heart. What did it say? It told her that she'd one day get over this. Get over the pain she was feeling. That all she had to do was be strong. Tifa sure hoped that was true.

All those times...all those memories. That's what they were. Tifa knew she'd get over this. She knew she'd find love again. All she had to do - was wait.
