Prompt #110 (Item) Blanket
"Here you looked like you need it." She looked up at the hand that held the worn blanket.
"No thanks." She tightened her hands on her arms.
"You don't have to be like that." His voice held a harsh note to it. "It's cold. Take it." His hand shook as he moved it closer towards her.
She looked impassively into his eyes. "I said that I don't need it."
He sighed. "Be that way." He dropped the blanket at her feet. He turned and walked towards the cabinet. "I would offer to build a fire. But as you can see we are fresh out of a fire place." He opened the cabinet. "I would offer you something to eat; but you can see we are fresh out of food." He turned to face her once more. "Sorry I didn't have time to go shopping." He shrugged as he wrapped his arms across his chest. "You look cold. Just put the damn blanket around you."
"I'm fine." She couldn't keep her teeth from clattering together.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah you sound just fine to me." He stormed across the room; and knelt in front of her. He grabbed the blanket and placed it firmly and tightly around her. "There now at least I won't be blammed of not being gentermanly and giving you the only blanket here." He growled.
She stiffened up.
The door of the cabin banged open. "Get away from her now!" Veronica rushed towards where Fangs was kneeling in front of Betty.
Fangs got to his feet and moved back over to the open cabinet. "I was just making sure the blonde had the only blanket around her was all. Not my damn fault that she's too stubborn to use it!" He leaned against the counter with his hands across his chest once more. "Christ."
"Betty." Veronica looked meaningfully into the blonde's tired but stubborn eyes.
"I dodn't need it." Betty began to remove the blanket.
Veronica grabbed the hand that held the blanket. "Don't even dare B." She pulled the blanket tighter around Betty's front once more. "Stop being so freaking stubborn all ready." She growled.
"You need it just as much as I do. Fangs does to." Betty jerked her head over to where the Serpent was standing.
"You are the one whom got more snow underneath that jacket of yours when that damn trunk fell as we were making our way to the cabin." Veronica sighed.
Fangs walked back over to the two girls. "Stop fighting with her Veronica." He sighed deeply as he sat down to the left of Betty. He jerked the side of the blanket open, and wrapped it around his shoulder as he moved as close into Betty as he could get. He snarled into Veronica's angry face. "Get your self underneath this blanket Lodge; scoot as close to Betty as you damn well can. We all three are sharing this damn blanket; and we'll help keep one another warm with our body heat." He hissed as he felt Veronica's nails against his waist as she moved her arm around Betty's waist. "I'm not trying to make a move on her Veronica. But I don't plan on freezing to death here either."
Betty rested her head against Veronica's shoulder; nuzzling into her neck.
Veronica began to calm down. She realized that Fangs was trying to protect Betty; and that he wasn't trying to harm her. "Sorry Fangs." She sighed as she placed her hand against Betty's stomach. They had to remove Betty's coat from her because the snow had covered; and soaked the inside layers of it.
"No problems. I hear anger helps with getting the body heat to rise." Fangs grumbled.
"He's right." Betty spoke.
The three teenagers sat in the freezing cold cabin hoping, and praying that the rest of the gang would find them soon.
