Just a Dream
One minute, Calleigh was sitting in her living room talking to Ashlyn. A minute later she was staring into the face of an infant boy. It took her a few minutes to figure out how the infant got there. Then she realized that the infant was hers, that she had just given birth.
'How is this possible' Calleigh wondered. I wasn't pregnant. Unconsciously, Calleigh looked down and placed a hand on her stomach. 'This isn't happening' Calleigh thought as the baby began to cry. 'My baby, that's my baby crying.' Calleigh though as the reality of the situation began to set in.
I wonder if he's hungry. Calleigh instinctively picked up the baby and lifted him to her breast. He quickly began to suckle, gazing contently at Calleigh as he ate.
Hospital, I need to go to the hospital' Calleigh thought as the baby continued to eat. Calleigh managed to get to the hospital, though she couldn't remember how she got there. She didn't remember any of the hospital visit until a nurse came in to ask her what the baby's name was.
'Uh' Calleigh's mind went blank as she tried to think of a name for her son. "William Timothy Duquesne," Calleigh told the nurse.
The next thing Calleigh recalled was being back at her house with William. She still could not remember being pregnant.
Just then the alarm clock buzzed on Calleigh's bedside table. 'William' she thought as she woke up. Once she was fully awake, Calleigh realized that it was just a dream. She was alone in her house, and she did not have a baby.
