A/N: This was written for:
-52 Weeks of Writing. Week 6: Prompts are rules, burningand "Now I know what a house elf feels like".
-Being a Wallflower (Jasmine) for the Valentine's fic exchange. I kinda used the prompt dream, but I used dreaming, and I hope you don't find this OOC, since we don't have a clear image of how Scorpius and Rose act, but I thought that this would be okay. Hope you enjoy.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own HP, JKR does.
Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy were walking back to Ravenclaw tower. Scorpius had insisted that he walk her there before he headed back to his Slytherin bedroom. As they approached the painting that blocked the doorway to the Ravenclaw common room, Scorpius looked at Rose.
"Do you want to go to the Room of Requirement with me?" he said to her, a pleading look in his grey eyes.
"Now?" she asked. "It'll be past curfew and we have a Potions quiz tomorrow."
"Yes, I know, but I really want to go with you. I have something special to show you."
She didn't want to go. They'd get in trouble, she knew it, and it all felt kind of adventurous, but she couldn't. Not now. Not in the middle of the night.
"No. I'm sorry, Scorpius. I just can't. And for the record, we'll be breaking the rules if we do this," she told him, hoping he would understand.
"Rules were made to be broken. Please Rose?" he said, looking at her, desperate for her to come with him.
"Okay, fine," she said, "but not for long. Okay?"
"Yes!" Scorpius said, and he grabbed her hand and ran down the corridor towards Room of Requirement.
"Rose, close your eyes, okay?" he said to her as they reached the wall where the door to the Room of Requirement appears when you need it. She did as he asked, and closed her eyes while he led her through a doorway. "Okay, open," he said a few moments later.
When Rose opened her eyes, she thought she was dreaming. The room was a beautiful array of colors and burning candle flames, like the room was a kaleidoscope.
"Oh my word," she whispered, taken aback by the beauty of it all. All of a sudden, music started playing and Scorpius extended his hand.
"May I have this dance?" he asked. She smiled and nodded, taking his hand.
They danced for hours, smiling, kissing, and totally in love. Neither said anything for the longest time. Scorpius was the one to break the silence.
"I love you, Rose. So much."
"I love you too," she replied, "and this has been the most fun I've had in ages. But I'm getting awfully tired. Maybe we can do it again some time?"
"Definitely," he said.
The two exited the room tired and smiling, walking down the corridor hand in hand when a light hit them. It was the Hogwarts groundskeeper. Rose hadn't bothered to learn his name since she never saw him.
"Look at what we have here," he said, his voice rich with a Scottish accent, "come on, you two. Let's go."
This is how Rose ended up with her first detention. Ever.
She and Scorpius were cleaning all of the trophies in the Trophy Room in Hogwarts.
"Now I know what a house elf feels like," she mumbled.
"At least we're together," he said, and kissed her.
Okay, maybe it wasn't that bad.
