So I was bored and had no idea what to do in my study hall, and guess what happens? Angsty Malec fic, for maximum tears. I think I made my Lightwood cry. I pride myself on that.
Anyways, I do want to warn you about how confusing it will be, but hopefully it clears up at the end. If you're still confused, let me know and I'll do my best to clear it up.
The title comes from Hozier's "Someone New."
Don't forget to review.
Only Blue Or Black Days
"I wish to kiss you," he would always say. His eyes are like magic; his voice a breeze. But you would always smile and look away, afraid of this stranger.
"I won't ever love you in that way," he would always shout. His eyes a raging fire; his voice a storm. You would lean forward, capture his lips into memory, and he would push you away.
"You're beautiful, courageous, and kind. You're my one in a million." His voice is dripping with honesty; his hands steadying you. But you are too busy thinking about what never will be.
"Will you marry me?" he asks, his voice filled with love and eyes vulnerable. You continue to watch as his ring goes on another's hand, arms wrap around his neck.
"Look at me," the voice is saying. Begging you, pleading, aching. There are sirens, yelling, and it's the loudest you've ever heard. In return, you drift further away, floating, free from it all.
Then there is silence. No words to haunt you, but you can see. You see him on his couch, his arm around his love, their child in his lap. You see him on the floor, eyes rimmed red, agony pulsing through his veins.
And you realize that all along, he has loved you and you him, too blinded to see it through your haze of alcohol.
And you open your mind, only to have his blue-green eyes staring at you in relief and, there you see it, pure love.
He is on you before you can say much, voice shooting with relief. But then as if caught doing something wrong, he pulls away.
Behind him you notice two pairs of golden eyes andone green, filled with relief and love. And you say with the most honesty you can muster,
"I'm happy for you."
The words come out croaked and garbled, your throat parched. But he smiles at you. He introduces his family to you, his wife Clary Adele, his daughter Amatis Celine, and you tell him he is one cocky and happy Herondale.
And you say with all seriousness "Bane over here better propose soon, otherwise I'll have to whip out my romance skills."
The look of pure shock on Magnus's face makes Alec fall in love with him a little more.
