This is not all of Chapter 1. I'll keep updating it, but reviews would be good. Anyway, I've got homework, so I'll try to finish this chapter when I'm done.

It was dark. Very, very dark. In fact, there was only one light, a red one that looked like an eye, up and to the right. It was almost hypnotizing, that light, and as it was the only thing that was visible, well, that just made it all the more intriguing.

Lily noticed it right away, nearly as soon as she came into being in this strange place. She stared at it for a long time, and she felt as if it stared back. Then, quite suddenly, it winked out, and Lily felt a terrible ache in her chest as if she had lost a friend. She waited for it to return, but instead, she heard a click, and a faint light spilled across the floor near her feet. The light was dim, but she had to squint into it because she had sat so long in the complete darkness.

A soft voice called out from beyond the door, and Lily scrambled to her feet. She peered towards the outside, but it was unknown, and though where she was was hardly more known, it felt safer. She sank back against the wall, but a moment later, she jumped back to her feet.

"Lillllyyyy..."

"Who's there?" Her voice was surprisingly strong for so long being silent and still. She crept towards the door and pushed it open, letting the pull of her feet lead her away down the tunnel and into the unknown. Yet, even now, she felt contorted, as if that presence she had felt, had felt, but not known, were still there. She looked up, and she saw the red light watching her. No, not watching her; that was ridiculous. But, she felt as if it was watching her, as if it really was a intelligent consciousness.

"Lily?"

Her head snapped down, and she saw a tall, slender man with log dark hair and green eyes. She felt awe fill her, and she instinctively knew his name.

"Sapphique." Her voice was a whisper.

"Hello Lily." His voice was smooth and wonderfully deep, entrancing Lily. He smiled and beckoned for her to follow him, and she walked after him as he turned and strode away.
