Revenge of the Lich King
(Erone)
The Blood Elf sleepily emerged from the tent and headed to the back of the chapel. There she was met by Valith, a Night Elf in heavy armor. "Hello, Erone," He said. "Did you sleep well?" Erone set down her bow and sat next to him. "I slept fine. You?"
"Same." She leaned her head on him for a while and they sat there, just listening to the calm sound of the wind. "I have to go," He said, "Or I'll be late for training."
She replied, "Okay. I'll see you later." He kissed her and left quietly.
They had met months ago. Valith, an aspiring solier, and Erone, a skilled archer.
Under normal circumstances, a Night Elf and a Blood Elf together was unheard of.
But luckily, they had both joined the Argent dawn.
Training was boring for Erone as the instructor went over techniques they had practiced many times. She brushed her blond hair behind her long ears and began to shoot. Afterwards, she headed to the mess hall to eat. Today they would be having Red Snapper and almost-stale bread. After getting her food, Erone found Valith sitting in the corner of the room. "How was training?" she asked him. "Interesting." he replied. "The trainer fell into a bucket of water." and he proceeded to tell her the humorous story.

That night was a cold one, and the tent offered little protection. Valith huddled underneath his blanket. Then the tent opened. Erone came inside. "Cold?" he asked her. She nodded and lay down beside him. That morning, Erone was still there. He woke her up and she left to get into her armor. Just then, an alert sounded. He could hear someone yelling, "Scourge! Coming this way! Form rank!" Valith scrambled out of his tent and ran to find Erone in the crowd. When he found her, he said, "I have to go find my unit. Alright?" She nodded and replied, "I'll be fine. Just promise me you'll be okay." He promised, kissed her on the forehead, and left to find his unit. They were at the front lines. Valith could see the Scourge monsters coming this way: Volatile abominations, formed from the corpses of honorable soldiers, horrific ghouls, and Death Knights, the champions of the Lich King. He drew in a nervous, panicked breath. He could be dead in an hour. But he mostly cared about Erone. "Please keep her safe," he prayed.
Then the first wave hit. Valith couldn't think; all he could do was slice, and dodge, and hack. He knew Erone was somewhere up high, shooting arrows at the enemies.
He saw an abomination coming his way. Three arms, all holding large weapons, its innards falling out of a hole in its stomach. It attempted to hit him with an ax, but he dodged and sliced off its hand with his sword. The creature roared in anger and tried to smash him, but again he got out of its way and, with a heave, thrust his sword into its neck. The monster fell down with a thump, dead. Valith smiled for a second, filled with triumph. But just then, he felt a stabbing pain in his chest. He looked down and to his horror a sword had been stabbed through his heart.
He fell.

Erone screamed, seeing what had happened from up on the tower. Behind Valith stepped the monster that had killed him: The Lich King. "Make sure you bring this one back," He told one of the necromancers that stood beside him. "He was able to kill one of my best abominations." Erone fell to her knees, staring at the scene in disbelief and terror. "Fall back!" She heard someone yell. The captain. "Fall back!"
"What are you doing?" said a fellow soldier. "Come on!" Erone quietly obeyed, only staring in front of her. Everything was a blur. People rushed past her. But she just kept on going.

Valith opened his eyes.
