Complete Circuit

I remember

Sitting on his knee,

His smile, my heart's

Moral Compass.

The nights he

Slew my demons

With a strong hand

On my back.

But time loves change,

More than he loved me.

Where is my champion

Now, to banish the cold

When the echoes

Of time change?
