Summer was always Merry's favorite season. Since he was a small boy he loved nothing more than strolling through the breezy meadows feeling the warm sunshine on his face. Spending long days at the beach skipping stones and even longer nights around the fire drinking and laughing with his friends. The beautiful flowers, the lovely streams, Merry loved summer more than anything. Expect for Pippin.
Pippin was everything he loved about summer in one beautiful package. His laugh was like song birds singing, quick and joyous. His hair was spun sunshine, a mop of golden threads. And his eyes! His wondrous, amazing eyes. Deep pools of blue that Merry could lose his soul and mind in. Something he often did. Like now, lying on his back at the beach gazing up at Pippin sitting next to him.
"Merry? Are you alright?" Pippins soft voice broke through Merry's daydreaming, causing him to startle somewhat.
"Of course! I'm here with you aren't I? I just got a little lost in your eyes is all." Pippin answered with his perfect laugh, sweet and full of gorgeous life. "What are you thinking of? Tell me please!" Pippin flopped onto his stomach, his face mere inches from Merrys, staring at him with his crystal clear orbs and a warm smile. "I want to know."
"I'm thinking about you Pip." Merry replied honestly, holding Pippins beautiful gaze. "I love spending time with you, this summer with you has been the best of my life. You're perfect to me. You make me happy." A smile was taking over Pippins delicate face, he looked all the more amazing with it. Pippins smile still stopped Merry's heart. "That's why I love you so much Pip. It's like…You're my summer. Everything about you is beautiful and fresh and, and, sunshine. That's it Pippin. Your sunshine to me."
"Aw Merry…You sunshine to me too." With that honest declaration Pippin leaned down and kissed Merry. A kiss filled with tender love, affection and sunshine. The lovely sunshine of summer. It always was Merry's favorite.
