Under the Mistletoe

Riley texted Maya, Farkle, and Lucas and invited them over for a Christmas dinner. She got an immediate reply from Lucas and Farkle. They were going to come. Soon afterwards, Maya agreed that she would come. Lucas had a present for Riley, so he would bring that when he came to her Christmas dinner. It was a bracelet that had her name on it. Also, he had bought her earrings and a personalized necklace that was inscripted with her name. On the back of it said that "My heart belongs to Lucas Friar. It was the perfect gift.
About five o' clock, Shawn, Eric, Amy, Alan, Jack, and Josh arrived. Farkle, Maya, and Lucas arrived shortly after. The Matthew's had hung a mistletoe right above the door, but two people had not walked under it together. Farkle walked in first, but Maya and Lucas walked in together.
"No way I'm kissing you, Sundance," Maya said.
"I'll just kiss you on your cheek then," Lucas said.
"Fine," Maya said.
So, Lucas leaned down and kissed Maya on the cheek. It was a quick peck, but it didn't go unnoticed by someone, and that someone was none other than Riley Matthews. Lucas saw Riley, not knowing that she had seen the kiss, and slowly approached her. She started crying and ran off to her room, but Maya ran after her. Riley shut her door and locked it.
"Riley it's me, Maya," Maya said. "What's wrong?" All Maya could make out was you…Lucas…kiss.
"Riley, it wasn't like that!" Maya said through the door. All she could here on the other side was crying.
"Lucas, go talk to her," Maya said, coming back without Riley by her side. No one noticed that Riley had ran back to her room, let alone crying.
"Okay," Lucas said. He made his way down the hall to Riley's bedroom.
"Riles, come on! Let me explain," Lucas said through the door.
"Why should I since you kissed my best friend!" Riley said still crying.
"Riley, we walked under the mistletoe," Lucas said. "I kissed her on the cheek, and she didn't mean to walk beside me! I was about to tell her what I got you for Christmas, but we walked under the mistletoe before I could tell her,"
"Fine, come in," Riley said, sniffling. So, she let Lucas in her bedroom. He sat down beside her on the bed and wrapped his arms around her.
"So, what did you get me for Christmas?" Riley asked.
"This," Lucas pulled out the necklace, earrings, and bracelet.
"Oh my gosh! These are beautiful," she said while putting in the earrings.
"Here, let me help you," Lucas said as he put the bracelet on her wrist, and then the necklace around her neck.
"Turn it over," he said. Riley turned over the necklace and read the inscription.
"What," Lucas cut Riley off with a kiss.
"Riley Matthews, will you be my girlfriend?" Lucas asked. He had already asked permission from her father a week before the dinner, so he asked her.
"What about my dad?" Riley asked.
"I've already talked to him," Lucas said.
"Then, yes, I'll be your girlfriend," Riley said as Lucas leaned down and kissed Riley on the lips. They walked back to Riley's family, hand in hand, awaiting the future that was to come.
