Yes? What can I- Oh! A visitor freezing in the blizzard this far north? This simply won't do! I simply must bring you in to warm yourself up, and I won't take 'no' for an answer! Hm… Yes, right here by the fireplace ought to do. Please, sit.

Now then, is there anything I could get you? A warm drink, perhaps? I have milk, teas, maybe some fine wine-

Oh? Why do I live this far north by my lonesome self, you ask? A perfectly legitimate question, I suppose. Tell me, have you ever witnessed the Aurora Borealis? The Northern Lights? There is something entrancing about them, and their beauty is one many never get the chance to experience in their lifetime. In fact, they are the very reason I…

Ah, forgive me. I'm getting ahead of myself. To answer you simply, it is a reminder. A reminder that time is changing, and the world is constantly shifting and shaping itself because of the lives that live on it. Times change, people change. Yet one thing will always remain constant about this change, unlike the Aurora.

History shall always repeat itself, unless we learn from and remember our mistakes. Such is the way of the world and, from the look of your demeanor, of the hunter. Ha-ho! You didn't think I wouldn't know? I've been in the position of the hunter and the hunted enough times to know what to look for in one. Especially one such as yourself!

Monster hunters are the stuff of legends! Heroes and Villains! Those of nobility and questionable character! Taking out such vicious and powerful beasts and becoming a tale told for years and years to come! Such is the pride and joy of a bard such as myself, having taken part of such activities on my own! Don't believe me? A couple of my hunting horns are over to your left, right outside my trophy room. Yes, I have made a number of achievements in my prime, no doubt about that!

But pray tell, my fair hunter…would you believe me when I say that those very beasts that you may have or will conquer also have legends, passed down through time? These legends exist in our equipment; our armory and our weaponry. The best example of this is the benefits we get out of that equipment. The hunter would not be without the monster he hunts. As our equipment is upgraded to become stronger, we are adding to the legends that already exist. This is most evident on the very weapons that you use, and is the very reason your weapons become so powerful! As for the armor, you get different benefits based on the legend those monsters make. The bigger the legend, the better the armor, the more difficult the monster.

I can recite those legends, and the legend of those legends. It is something of an art I discovered that the Wyvernian blacksmiths all learn, yet most don't even realize what it is! The Wyvernians use it in their art of forging and smithing, but I realized the potential is has in other uses. I channel this art into tales previously untold! Speaking of which, I can tell that this snowstorm won't pass for a good while, so I have a proposal for you. I will tell you one of the legends that reside in my trophy room. I ask for nothing in return, except to simply listen. If you like what you hear and wish to hear more, I will always be here. Simply knock and I shall answer.

Now come, and let us begin the tales of the Monster Bard.
