Ella stirs her lemonade with her favorite spoon. "So what's New York like?"
"Um... really loud," Nudge decides, and sips her own lemonade. "There's a lot of people."
Ella giggles. "No way. Tell me something I don't know."
Nudge thinks for a moment -- there are, like, about eighty trillion things she wants to tell Ella right now, but can't. You look like Max. Weird. I like your house. Stupid-sounding.
"You're really pretty," Nudge blurts.
Ella grins. "Thanks."
Nudge blushes.
But Ella leans in closer to whisper in her ear, and she smells like bubblegum lipgloss and lemonade.
"You are too."
