Chapter 1
Absentmindedly, Annabeth scribbles on a piece of plain paper, entranced by her own dream world. Percy Jackson sighs and pushes back his floppy hair undo his red and yellow striped hat. Unattainable, that was one way to describe Annabeth. A Ravenclaw prefect going out with a useless Gryffindor, unheard of. Percy sighs again and pokes the back of a Hufflepuff with the end of his pencil.
"What do you want?" groaned Grover Underwood staring down his best and only friend in the eye. As far as Hufflepuffs went this one wasn't very kind. Luckily he made up for that in loyalty. Never in the 4 years Percy had been attending Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry had Grover Underwood ever done anything to purposely hurt Percy. Never.
"Do you think Annabeth would ever go out with me?" Percy asked, raising one eyebrow cockily and pulling his 'most attractive' face. Grover grunted and shot one stealthy glance at Annabeth.
"I'll ask her," said Grover grinning.
"No. No way in the entire world are you going to ask Annabeth Chase if she likes me" Percy said forcefully pulling on Grover's shabby black and yellow robe.
"Don't worry about it" Grover's smile lit up his whole face as he sashayed towards Annabeth's desk dramatically.
In the most inconspicuous why possible, Percy leant over his desk pretending he dropped his quill. He didn't look conspicuous at all. Percy definitely didn't want Grover to ask her but he wasn't going to stop him either.
"Ummmm, excuse me," asked the small Hufflepuff student suddenly intimidated by the immediate danger which was the Ravenclaw prefect. Annabeth glanced up at him with those stormy grey eyes with sudden curiosity. Of course. All Ravenclaws were curious, which was a trait which Percy often found in himself. Annabeth didn't say anything but nodded in acknowledgement of his presence.
"Well, long story short" Grover babbled as Annabeth stared at him impatiently. Those grey eyes of hers seem to be boring a hole in his hollow head.
"My friend likes you!" Grover blurted out. Percy looked up in rage. He was going to kill that puny Hufflepuff.
"Well, please tell your friend," Annabeth said without missing a beat, "that I need to study!" She stood up forcefully, stamped on Grover's shoe which was encased within a tiny black plimsol and walked out of the room.
"That worked," Grover said sheepishly as he moved over to Percy's table. Percy just sat there with his arms crossed drilling a hole in the centre of his forehead.
"It really did" said Percy.
